The lightest in Atomic's new family of fast-and-light boots, the Atomic Backland Carbon Light Ski Boots are perfect for the adventurous ski mountaineer who participates in the occasional rando race. Weighing in at less than 1,000 grams in a 27.5, the Backland Carbon Light absolutely flies up the skintrack and still has enough power to rock the descents. If you've looked at other boots in this class and found them too narrow or too low in the instep, the Backland Carbon Light will be a revelation - the new Memory Fit heat moldable Grilamid shell will typically accommodate feet up to 102 mm wide or even wider. The huge 74˚ range of cuff motion is best-in-class, and the Ultralon™ foam Platinum Light Liner is both breathable and hand washable. The Backland Carbon Light comes with Atomic's softer Quick Click tongue, which can be removed or left in to fit your desires.

Last: 98 mm Narrow – Relaxed 98 mm forefoot width with above average instep height and medium heel width.
Memory Fit – The shell, cuff, and liner of Memory Fit boots can be heat molded for a completely custom fit. The molding process is simple and permanent, and can add up to 6 mm of forefoot width and 10 mm of ankle width.

Quick Click Tongue System – Backland boots are usually skied with the removable tongue in place; tongue is normally removed for skinning. The tongues slip in for skiing and out for touring in seconds.
