A quick pull on the release handle fills the 150 liter bag within 3 seconds, tilting the odds of survival in your favor by floating you toward the surface of the slide. The design of the Mammut airbag system also helps cushion and protect your head and neck from impact. The Mammut Removable Airbag System (RAS) uses a refillable air cylinder (sold separately) and can be removed for days when you think the avy danger is minimal or you need more space. Expensive? In the event of a slide, the Integrated Removable Airbag System (RAS) increases your chances of recovery and survival by helping keep your body towards the top of the moving avalanche debris
Square-shaped bag inflates to a volume of 150 L within three seconds after you pull on the release handle. Bright colored handle is conveniently located on the pack's shoulder strap.
Airbag system also helps cushion and stabilize your head and neck areas during a slide, and, after deflating, can reveal a pocket of air to buy you and your rescue team precious time.
Snowpulse Inflation System 2.0 – The new System 2.0 is only compatible with newer Snowpulse R.A.S. units and is NOT compatible with older Snowpulse LifeBag packs.
