August 2024
  • 1
    Day number 1
Arrive at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport by 10:00 AM local time on Sunday. If you’d prefer to fly in a day early, we recommend arriving anytime on Saturday and staying at the Holiday Inn at the airport.

Once the group has assembled, we’ll depart by private transportation for Las Trancas. The drive will take approximately 5–6 hours, with stops along the way for lunch and snack breaks.

We’ll arrive at our home base for the week, Roble Viejo Lodge, where we’ll check in, enjoy a home-cooked welcome dinner prepared by our hosts, and settle in for a good night’s sleep ahead of our first day on the mountain.

    Meals included: Dinner

    Day number 2
Meet for breakfast at 7:30 AM to check the weather and plan out the day. Get ready and gather in the lobby by 8:30 AM for our transfer to Nevados de Chillán.

We’ll start the day riding together with a quick orientation of the resort. From there, guests are welcome to ride in groups with the guides or explore the mountain on their own. We’ll identify a meeting spot for lunch and après, then coordinate our return to the lodge once the last pisco sour has been enjoyed.

In the evening, you’ll have time to relax, enjoy some charcuterie, and soak in the hot tub before heading into town for our dinner reservations.

    Meals included: Breakfast
  • 3
    Day number 3
Enjoy the 3KM Tres Marías run and practice riding the T-bar. We’ll stop for lunch at La Vista Restaurant, located at the top of the mountain, where you can take in expansive views of the Andes and soak up some sun — we recommend ordering a completo and a piscola.

We’ll meet again for après at Hotel Alto Nevados, where you can dance to old-school techno and, depending on the mood, possibly break out the shot ski. If you’re craving something sweet to keep you going, be sure to grab some alfajores (dulce de leche cookies) at the corner store on the way home from the mountain.

After skiing, we’ll relax back at the lodge before heading out for another local dinner reservation.

    Meals included: Breakfast
  • 4
    Day number 4
Depending on the weather and the group’s needs, there will be an option to take a day off to rest and unwind. We may visit a local hotel hot spring, go on a short hike, and/or enjoy a Chilean wine tasting with an expert from a local wine shop. If the weather is great and stoke is high, we’ll head back to the mountain with anyone who’s ready to shred.

At the end of the day, we’ll all meet up in the village for an après session at Las Bravas, where you can also browse the local gift shops. Later in the evening, we’ll enjoy a casual dinner and a quiet night if a recharge is needed.

    Meals included: Breakfast
  • 5
    Day number 5
Following breakfast, we’ll head back to the resort and ride the Otto chair high into the alpine. From there, we’ll explore more off-piste terrain if conditions allow. Expect long laps, beautiful scenery, and great vibes - this is why you came to Chile. Take it all in and enjoy the moment.

As usual, we’ll meet up for après and organize our transportation back to the lodge. We’ll head out again for dinner, but if you need a break from the group outings and would prefer to dine on your own, please let your guide know ahead of time and they’ll help you make alternate arrangements.

    Meals included: Breakfast
  • 6
    Day number 6
Soak in your final day riding in the Andes. Revisit your favorite runs from the week and grab those last scenic mountain photos. We’ll cap off the day with one final Tres Marías run, then meet up for our last après.

Bring your bathing suit and a change of clothes if you’d like to hit the hot springs one last time. We’ll thank our servers at the Alto Nevados bar, then take one final run together into the sunset to our pickup spot.

We’ll head back to Roble Viejo for one last dinner - a special BBQ prepared by our hosts at the lodge.

    Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

    Day number 7
Eat breakfast, pack up your gear, and check out by 9:00 AM. As a group, we’ll travel by private transfer to Santiago and check in at Hotel Plaza San Francisco. You’ll then have the rest of the day and evening to explore the city.

We’ll wander through Plaza de Armas, check out the street art in Barrio Lastarria, browse local street markets, and maybe even stop by the fish market for a snack.

We’ll cap off the week with a final farewell dinner at our favorite Peruvian restaurant in Santiago, where we’ll enjoy fresh seafood and local flavors while sharing stories from the week and dreaming up the next adventure. Japan perhaps? Argentina next summer?

    Meals included: Breakfast
  • 8
    Day number 8
Spend your last morning exploring Santiago. We’ll provide recommendations for things to do, including a visit to the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, a stroll through Barrio Bellavista, or a hike up San Cristóbal Hill.

We’ll help coordinate transportation back to the airport via shuttle or Uber for those heading home. Breakfast at the hotel is included, but you’ll be responsible for any snacks, as well as the cost of transportation around the city or to the airport.

FAQ
FAQ
  • Is my trip guaranteed?
Yes! Both trip departures are officially confirmed to run. Please do wait until you receive a confirmation email from evoTrip before finalizing any travel plans.
  • Can I choose my roommate?
Yes. If you have a roommate request, please let us know. By default, we will place two people of the same gender in a room with two beds.
  • What if I'm a solo traveler that would like a roommate but none are available?
If you are a solo traveler that would like a roommate, we do our best to pair you with another solo traveler of the same gender. However, if no roommate option is available and you must be assigned your own room, you will be asked to pay 50% of the single supplement to cover the cost of your room. In this case, as the single supplement is $900, you would be liable for $450 extra. Please note roommates are paired on a first come, first served basis, so the earlier you book the less likely you will be "forced" into a single room!
  • When and how do I meet up with the group?
You are responsible for booking your own travel and you must arrive at the Santiago airport by 10:00 am on the first day of your trip. We will be waiting with an evo sign in the terminal just outside of customs.
  • Can I book a private room?
Yes. Single occupancy rooms may be available at an additional cost of $900. Please contact us if you are interested and note that single rooms are subject to availability, and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
  • I am a beginner / intermediate / advanced level of skier / snowboarder. Will there be terrain for me?
We recommend this trip for intermediate and above skiers and riders. More specifically, this tour is best suited to skiers and snowboarders who can link turns in powder snow, can make a variety of turn shapes and can traverse, hold speed and are adventurous when skiing and snowboarding the entire mountain. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions about ability level.
  • Are rentals available or do I need to bring my own equipment?
We recommend that you bring your own gear. There are rentals available at a local snow shop and at the mountain, unfortunately there is not a list of rental equipment available and we cannot guarantee that you will have access to specific sizes or brands.
  • Can I (or my partner) come even if I don’t ski or snowboard?
Yes. The primary activity on these trips is skiing or snowboarding; however, there may be options if you or your loved one does not currently participate. There is an English-speaking ski school at Nevados de Chillan; you can sign up for lessons and rentals at an additional cost (we can help book this). For folks not interested in learning to ski / snowboard, there are limited opportunities for other activities and the location is beautiful and relaxing. If they would still like to come, we can provide an additional $250 discount. We may be able to help coordinate other activities, such as visits to a spa, yoga or snow shoeing.
  • Will we be able to wash our clothes?
Yes. Roble Viejo Lodge can provide laundry services for a small fee.
  • I am going to come early / stay longer; can I do something with my gear?
There are storage lockers available at the airport, or the hotel in Santiago may be able to hold luggage for limited periods. We are happy to help coordinate this.
  • Can my dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Yes, please provide advance notice of any dietary restrictions. For meals provided by the lodge/evo (breakfasts and dinners), there will be options available for both. It will be easy to avoid gluten. Being a vegetarian in Chile is easy, but not necessarily delicious. We do recommend that you bring snacks along just in case. While there are no Halal restaurants in Las Trancas, there will be many meal options available by avoiding meat. Similarly, while there are no Kosher restaurants in Las Trancas, there will be many meal options available by avoiding meat. We do recommend that you bring some snacks just in case.
  • I'm ready to book. What next?
To secure your spot, you can either pay the full amount now or contact Customer Care at 1.866.386.1590 if you prefer to only pay your $1,000 per person deposit. Note that regardless of paying full payment or deposit at time of booking, we will consider $1,000 to be a non-refundable deposit in accordance with our terms and conditions. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
  • What if I need to change or cancel my trip?
We understand the need for flexibility now more than ever. If you cannot or no longer wish to join your scheduled trip, we are offering the option to forward your deposit to a future evoTrip (at no cost) up to 65 days prior to departure date. However, if you need to cancel, the deposit for the trip is non-refundable and cancellations will be subject to a cancellation fee (see policy below). For this reason, we recommend purchasing travelers insurance, which will cover the cost of your trip in extenuating circumstances. All cancellations must be submitted to evo in writing, are effective as of the date we receive them according to our internal records, and will be subject to a cancellation fee as follows (amounts are per person and only apply to amount paid after the $1,000 non-refundable deposit amount): Cancellation 60 days or more prior to trip departure - Non-Refundable $1,000 Deposit charged. Cancellation between 30 and 59 days prior to trip departure - 50% of total booking cost charged. Cancellation less than 30 days prior to departure - 100% of total booking cost charged. Cancellation policy for custom trips may differ from these terms and will be communicated prior to booking. No refunds will be made if you voluntarily leave a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. The same applies if you leave a trip or cannot fully participate in a trip due to injury or illness. Refunds will be at the discretion of the Company if you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized.
  • Should I purchase travel insurance?
YES! While it is not required, we always recommend purchasing travel insurance for all trips. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, theft and/or accidental damage while traveling. We recommend World Nomads.

Seriously everything I dreamed of for a bucket list trip. It was well planned, insane lodge, heli skiing and resort. The guides were pretty good as well. Honestly Dan and Jamie made it phenomenal. Went knowing no one and feel like I've got new friends for life.

A special group of individuals at times come together. Chile was one of these times. It's difficult to describe, such different people with diverse backgrounds. The level of conscience that ran through it all amazed me and others as well.

It was obvious from the start of the trip that our local guides were doing everything within their power to ensure that our questions were answered and that we had a great time.

evo really provides a welcoming environment for everybody from the youngest to the oldest with the huge age gap between the two. It really opened up the door for travelling alone and was a great way to get out and ride with a group of awesome people
