If you are in search of somewhere new and off the beaten track to snowboard, then this adventure is for you.

Slovenia has a unique culture that combines the best of Europe and the Balkans. On this trip you will spend 8 days exploring this winter wonderland on a roadtrip from the capital Ljubljana to the stunning Lake Bled and the wine capital Maribor. Visit the extraordinarily beautiful ski resorts in the Julian Alps, Kamnik Alps and Pohorje Mountains. Slovenia offers a spectacular blend of accessible slopes, majestic scenery, small-scale and friendly resorts, bursting with authentic charm and affordable mountain food and drinks. There is great freeride terrain with plenty of off-piste options to satisfy freeride lovers. You’ll enjoy the quiet, queue-free and uncrowded groomed runs where you can feel as if you have discovered your own personal snowboarding wonderland. A professional local guide will show you where to find the best lines and the best terrain that is suited to your ability. During this tour we stay in 4 star hotels in the city centers in Ljubljana, Lake Bled and Maribor. Step outside the hotel and you can have your pick of what you’d like to do; culture, historic architecture, world-class drinking and dining scene, museums, it’s all on your doorstep. Head out with your guides each evening to explore the city sights.

Area Information
Vogel Ski Resort

Without a doubt Vogel is one of Slovenia's best all round resorts, offering some harder and longer pistes to suit more experienced skiers and snowboarders, as well as outstanding off-piste. It is one of Slovenia's higher resorts with slopes up to 6000 ft and its position as one of the first mountains in the range ensures consistently good snow, with skiing usually until late April, even without artificial snow making. New lift infrastructure has greatly improved queuing times and the overall resort experience in recent years. The resort is accessed via gondola from the shores of Lake Bohinj. The resort offers a number of good places to eat and drink on the mountain top or dotted around beautiful Lake Bohinj.

  • I am a beginner / intermediate / advanced level skier / snowboarder. Will there be terrain for me?
To join the on-snow guided sessions, guests need to be at a minimum intermediate ability. An intermediate snowboarder can link turns on most runs both consistently and confidently, although sometimes coming into difficulty on steep black runs or in challenging snow conditions. If you’re not sure if this tour is suited to your ability just give us a call. We’re always happy to match you to a suitable tour or recommend a progression tour.
  • What is the maximum number of guests on each trip?
This trip will have a maximum of 7 guests.
  • What will the food be like?
Slovenian cooking borrows a little something from each of its neighbors – Italy, Austria, Hungary and the Balkans. Slovenes have an obsession for using only fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The result is a terrific foodie destination, where you’ll sample dishes in unusual combinations, featuring items like pasta dumplings of potato, chives and bacon, salads drizzled with nutty pumpkin seed oil, and multilayered gibanica, a wildly decadent dessert. Slovenian wine is also a highlight, and regional whites and reds pair well with local specialities.
  • Who are the guides?
All of our tours are guided by friendly, knowledgeable and expertly trained guides who are passionate about the mountains. This tour is hosted by our local guide Saso who has decades of guiding experience in Slovenia, so it’s fair to say he knows a few of the secret spots.
  • Can I rent equipment?
We recommend bringing your own snowboard equipment for this tour. Renting on this trip, while possible, will be tough with the travel aspect and multiple resort destinations.
  • Is trip insurance required?
Yes. All guests on tour need to be covered by comprehensive travel insurance. Once you have booked on the tour, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. We recommend World Nomads as they are the ultimate in travel protection and global emergencies and evacuations.
  • Do you have a deposit option, or is full payment due at time of booking?
You may either apply full payment at time of booking, or if preferred you can place a 50% deposit ($1197.5). If you are looking for women's snowboarding trip put Mint Women on the top of your list. I had been considering going for 2 years and finally decided this was the time. My expectations were exceeded at every turn. The coaches were amazing, the accommodations gorgeous, the food excellent, the resort beautiful, our small group of women inspiring, supportive, fun and adventurous. Every day was challenging, every moment was enjoyable. Mint has created a very special environment and selected only the most skilled educators to bring it to fruition.

For a female snowboarder looking to progress in a supportive environment with the best female coaches, there is nothing that even comes close to the Mint Women’s week. The stoke is high on and off the slopes, and I can say that I’ve made friends for life on every tour I’ve been on. How could you not, when you’re surrounded by women who love snowboarding as much as you do, and who definitely want to have fun, eat yummy food and have a delicious cocktail or two. Or more. No judgment. I can’t wait to get shreddy when we are allowed to travel again!”
