This adventure takes you to Norrøna's own hotel - Canvas  Telemark - and gives you access to mountain bike heaven right outside your door with nature as your home.

Join evoTrip x Norrøna Adventure on a 6-day trip full of biking and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. If you love combining mountain biking, delicious locally produced food, and relaxation in the wilderness, this trip is for you. Experience some of the most incredible trail biking opportunities in the world, right in the heart of Telemark. We will spend a night at one of our favorite hotels in Oslo and stop by the Norrøna shop so you can spend our gift to you ($200 in store credit) before we depart for Norrøna Canvas – a paradise ideal for all outdoor lovers, especially mountain bikers. Imagine over 100 kilometers of slick rock connected together by singletrack trails running through lush vegetation in the middle of the wilderness. Picture a trail that never ends, that goes over a bridge and onto a small island in a secluded clearing. Suddenly, in the middle of the rocks, you spot a hideout built exclusively to elevate your mountain biking experience. This will be our home for the next four days where we will sleep in traditional yurts, eat and drink well, and enjoy the spa & sauna facilities.

Wake up to the birds chirping and morning light flooding your yurt. Enjoy a social and relaxed lounge and bonfire areas. Be wowed by the incredible meals that are inspired by simplicity and cooked over wood fired stoves and grills. Relax in the spa and sauna before and after biking trips. Fix and prep your bike for the next day's ride with a fully outfitted workshop and cleaning stations.

And the best thing? Canvas is built responsibly in such a way that there is no infrastructure and if it is taken down, its trace will disappear. The hotel uses upgraded solar panels, gas, and wood burning as the main heat and food preparation sources.

Please note: this experience is best suited to intermediate and above riders.

ITINERARY

Arrival

Arrive in Oslo at a time of your choice, either in the morning or in the afternoon. Visit Norrona’s flagship store in Oslo to shop for a few goodies before your trip – you'll have $200 in credit to have fun with. We will meet at 8 pm in a local restaurant close to the hotel to have dinner together and get to know each other. Please note that dinner is at your own expense. Overnight at Thon Hotel Opera.

Depart to Paradise

After we have enjoyed breakfast together, we depart to paradise for mountain bikers - Canvas Hotel. The hotel is located in an isolated area that cannot be accessed by a vehicle, so the last 2 km to the camp will be done on foot or bike. Upon first glance, Canvas Hotel is reminiscent of a safari lodge, isolated on a private island. During our stay, we will live in yurts equipped with a comfortable bed, wood burning stove, and a private toilet, with your bike, the restaurant, and the spa/showers only a few meters away. We live right on the trail, so after eating lunch, we hop on our bikes to get to know the trails and our bikes. The terrain is so varied and offers the best rides for all levels. In the evening, we will enjoy a dinner prepared with fresh Norwegian ingredients combined with an excellent drink pairing and a spectacular view of the pond, before enjoying a high-quality sleep in our Hästens beds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included on this day. Overnight at Norrøna Canvas Telemark.

Explore

Waking up to birds singing and mist floating above the pond will feel like a dream. To wake you up slowly and get the best start to the day, coffee is delivered to your doorstep. Enjoy the slow morning in bed by the fire or in the morning sun before we meet to prepare breakfast together and get ready for our full day of biking. We will spend the day biking in the singletrack trails that stretch over 100 km, running through the lush vegetation in the middle of the wilderness, over slick rocks, century-old pine needle trails, countless bridges, and two spectacular suspension bridges. The Ice Age polished the mountains and made them some of the most incredible trail biking opportunities in the world. After a long day of biking, you might feel the need to unwind, and what better way to do this than with a cold swim in the pond, a warm bath in the tub on the wharf, a steamy sauna, or a hot shower made with a barrel hung between two trees? In the evening, we enjoy dinner together and share stories from the eventful day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included on this day. Overnight at Norrøna Canvas Telemark.

Choose Your Adventure

We start the day by repeating the calm morning with a coffee delivery and a homemade breakfast. You can choose how you want to spend this day. Maybe you want to explore more of the never-ending biking trails and beautiful nature, or maybe your muscles need a day off with relaxation in the spa and sauna, enjoying the silence and the view. Tonight, we enjoy our last dinner together, and perhaps some star gazing by the bonfire before we head off for a good night's rest. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included on this day. Overnight at Norrøna Canvas Telemark.

Final Ride

Today we wake up to a lovely breakfast before we either go for a final bike ride or spend the morning by the lake. After the activities, we pack up our things and enjoy a final lunch together, before we make a return to Oslo. Enjoy your final evening in Oslo with the group and talk about our fantastic trip and sum up all the experiences that we have had together. Breakfast and lunch are included this day, you will be responsible for your own dinner bill in Oslo. Overnight at Thon Hotel Opera.

Location Details

The world's only mountain bike hotel, in the middle of the wilderness. World-class trails and glamping.

Imagine over 100 kilometers of slickrock connected together by singletrack trails running through lush vegetation in the middle of the wilderness. Picture a trail that never ends, that goes over a bridge and onto a small island in a secluded clearing. Suddenly, in the middle of the rocks, you spot a hideout built exclusively to elevate your mountain biking experience.

Canvas is a piece of paradise ideal for all outdoor lovers and especially mountain bike enthusiasts. The trails are arranged so that it is a perfect location for intermediate, advanced, and expert riders alike, with seasoned guides who will help you with technique and safety as needed.

Upon first glance, Canvas Hotel is reminiscent of a safari lodge. Traditional Kyrgyz yurt-style tents and specially designed house tents dot the landscape made in a durable, Khaki-colored canvas. Small bridges connect the hotel to the trails on each side of this tiny island allowing the biking to begin straight from the heart of this hotel. You can choose to relax in the wood-fired saunas or in one of our famous outdoor bathtubs. Or, you can retreat to your yurt to relax and reflect both before and after dining on delicious meals that are as distinctive as the hotel itself.

Canvas Hotel is an "off grid" paradise. The yurts have been placed on stilts along the rocky slopes. There is no infrastructure here. We do have electricity in common areas to charge mobile phones and PCs. We do not have charging facilities for electric cars and the nearest speed charger is Brokelandheia.

The kitchen at Canvas Telemark is as unique as the rest of this secluded hideaway. With no conventional heating methods, we rely on the simplicity and character of more classic food preparation without taking away from its quality.
