Comments about One Ball Jay 4WD Cool Wax:
This is a pretty good, basic, hydrocarbon wax that won't break the bank & does the job. For colder temps, you don't really want fluoros for the most part any way as what they do is repel moisture & dirt better, unless you're riding in some dirty snow. In seriously cold conditions, you might want to crayon on some graphite wax onto the base first as it helps to reduce static buildup on the boards base & makes it go a little faster. The best conditions/temps for this stuff are Ice & Cold whereas that's where plain hydrocarbons excel the most. I like to crayon/rub on some all-temp. hydrocarbon first, that's what I usually do before dripping on the day's temperature specific, it helps to maximize/stretch out your wax & not use it up so fast. Also, if you have an extruded base, vs. a sintered one, it doesn't truly soak up the wax any way, so using a more expensive fluoro type wax is pretty much just wasting it & the money you spent on it, especially for jibbing & sliding on obstacles, etc., but it's your choice, it just depends on how fast you wanna' go & how often you're willing to wax..., later!
