Comments about Traitor Ruben Bike 2015:

I have had this bike as my commuter for about 4 weeks now and have about 100 miles on it. I also owned an earlier generation Traitor from about 4 years ago so this is an upgrade for me.

Favorites: The SRAM shifters are the best - they work with a flick of the fingers, super convenient and natural. Love the disc brakes, work well especially in rain. I had no problems getting my fenders and rack installed, which is not always the case on a lot of bikes I've had. The range of gears are perfect - the easiest gear gets me up steep Seattle hills without standing and I have enough range to still accelerate on all but the steepest downhills.

What could be improved: The pictures on the site don't reflect the color as well as in person (Traitors website does a better job). I got the brown and its a richer, slightly deeper tone. It's also a steel frame so not the lightest bike in the world the tradeoff is more stability and it should last much longer. Though I love the shifter/brake configuration, there are no brakes when you are in a full upright position.

Overall this bike has been an awesome value.

Comments about Traitor Ruben Bike 2015:

I have been a Ruben owner since the very first edition. I customized mine with a flat bar because i like the feel, being used to a riding a mt. bike. I appreciate the understated style and design details. It's not flashy but solid and sophisticated and has a lot of details that you'd expect from a much more expensive bike. With the Ruben, you get high quality and a really good look at an especially good value. I haven't yet attached a handlebar carrier for my 2 year old but plan to. Let me know if you have and how it works!
