Just picked up these in the Chromapop Polarized Gray Green and I can't tell you how much I love them. These lenses are unlike any other polarized lense I've tried where the clarity and the rich tones are truly worth every penny. The amount of coverage is perfect for me but I do enjoy a larger coverage, which is why I don't understand why Smith describes the Lowdown's coverage as medium. In my opinion they're a large to medium fit but I do have a smaller face. The nose and temple pads assure me these will not fall off my face even if I'm going on a hike or even taking a run. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm wearing them. The fit/style feels super solid and Smith did an excellent job on these glasses. I will defiantly grab a few more Lowdown's in different lenses in the near future because I just enjoy how they look. The rich tones, clarity and colors that these lenses bring out even on a slightly overcast day is amazing. If you have the money, don't even consider purchasing anything else because the Chromapop lenses will not disappoint.

"The Grass Really Is Greener"

By

from Bangor, ME, USA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

Ever heard the saying "The grass is always greener on the other side"? Well these Chromapop Lowdowns really are!!! No, literally, the grass and everything else you look at has such vibrant and beautiful color, it's almost unreal. The clarity is incredible. I had been waiting to get my hands on these for about 2 months since they were out of stock. Now I finally have them, and I can see what all the talk is about. The quality is spot on and I love the rubber panels on the nose and ears to help prevent them from slipping off your face. I could see the rubber wearing or splitting over time but so far so good! Seems pretty durable for the most part. The fit is perfect - I'd say I have a Medium sized face and these are an awesome fit. Overall, these are hands-down the best pair of sunglasses I have ever invested in and I am glad I waited. No complaints, even if I tried.

Comfortable, great quality, but doesn't fit well on my face.

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

Without trying them on I bought online because they looked very stylish. They are good looking , however they sit on my face fairly high. I feel I have a medium face (width and height) with medium height nose and the width on these are fine, just not how high they fit. The tops of the glasses go just above my eyebrows making them look odd on my face. I got the black w/ polarized grey lens and the quality and clarity seem very good. Comfortable and lightweight also. I'd recommend these, but just make sure to try on.

They have done it again...

By

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I'm a long time Smith user and have owned a pair of Chiefs forever. I was literally convinced you couldn't get better than the lens I previously owned until minutes ago I experienced Chromopop on my band new pair of Lowdowns. I unpackaged the frames and walked outside and the colors and clearness on the Lowdowns are the best lenses I have ever come across. I have used Smiths for fly fishing for years so I ordered the brown lens (works best for me with the water) and can say yet again they have enhanced their product that will now enhance my lifestyle. Can't wait to cast with Chromopop! That or just sit down with a cold beer and stare at the ocean, they are that good. Something else I noticed is how locked onto the face these frames are. They are not going anywhere during any minor physical activity. I ordered the lowdowns as a casual shade for day to day use but they will definitely be accompanying me in my pack for hikes and fishing trips form here on out. Smith does it again, great product.

Great classic shape

By

from Belgrade, Serbia

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I have a fairly large head, and most classic shape glasses look and fit terrible. Lowdown's are the first that I truly like. They are light. The lenses are great. And I don't feel them on my head. Great product.

I previously owned a pair of Lowdown shades and loved them, so it was a no brainer to order another pair when the time came. Love the new black to tortoise fade! Perfect balance of trendy and a classic look.

Awesome Well-Crafted product

By

from Alexandria, VA, USA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I have been wearing Smith sunglasses for years. The lens quality is the best in the Industry. The Lowdown frame fits great. I got the impossibly black style which is great looking and the lenses are pretty dark. They do not look as dark once you put them on, but the amount of light they block out is great.

Great Lenses

By

from Beech Mountain, NC, USA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I bought the Gray/Green Chromapop lenses. They are better than expected! Provides excellent clarity and really does make blue and green objects "pop". The glasses are lightweight and stylish, Smith's online virtual try-on gives a fairly accurate representation of what they will look like. Smith never fails to produce a great pair of sunglasses!

My go to sunnies

By

Best Lens I've ever used

By

from Miami, FL, USA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I've tried the best lens's from Costa, Maui Jim, and Ray-Ban. These glasses in chromapop are the best variation of the "top dog" glasses on the market. I work at a marina in the summer and wear these every day. After work they work great whether I'm fishing saltwater or fresh. I wear these skiing in the winter as well. No downside to these glasses. I love how lightweight they are for the quality. Second place for me is the Costa Del Mar 508 Glass lens in terms of quality, but they are so heavy, therefor the Chromopop lens system is the best available. I have been wearing these for 2 years now and they still amaze me when I look at a body of water.

Chromapop Lowdowns - the best!

By

from CO and MA

Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

I've been wearing these glasses daily for over a year now. Snowboarding, bike riding, hiking - they always stay in place. They look great and the chromapop is really nice. I had an issue with the coating peeling off but Smith's lifetime warranty program and awesome customer service took care of that for me. Best sunglasses I've ever owned!

Great shades, Amazing lenses, but had durability issues

    By

    from Bloomington, IN, USA

    Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

Chromapop lenses are amazing, the brown lenses in my experience really do make colors much more vivid. Glasses have been great on fishing trips, tooling around on my SUP, on hikes or just hanging out around town. Only problem I have had is that after less than a year the inside of the lenses had appeared to have started to ripple, and wave. That being said I sent my glasses back to Smith and they were promptly replaced with a brand new pair 100% covered by the warranty. Wish there was an explanation for why that happened so I can try and make sure it doesn't happen again. Would be a solid 5/5 if it wasn't for the durability hick-up.

    Great glasses!

    By

    from Yuma, AZ, USA

    Comments about Smith Lowdown Sunglasses:

Being a sunglasses "collector", I have owned every type, brand, and manufacturer. With a retail sunglasses dealer in my family, it has allowed me access to even more, and when they asked me go with Smith Optics, I gave them a shot. The Lowdown matte black with red lens catch the attention of more people than my higher end glasses. These glasses are durable and lightweight. I am actually considering selling most of my sunglasses collection, so I can fill my variety of "shades" with Smith.
