Product Info

When you're touring, the snow conditions can change dramatically from powder to mank to corn, sometimes in the duration of a single run. That's why a board that does it all like the Jones Aviator Splitboard is such a huge asset in the backcountry, and why it's spawned a huge following. This directional twin butters and switches it up nicely, but also facilitates a versatile range of turn shapes and lets you swivel on a dime without worrying about hooking an edge. Like other Jones splits, the Aviator features inner and outer Mellow Magne-Traction™ to let you get a grip on icy sidehills, plus it comes with premium Karakoram™ hardware so it rides just like your solid (non-split) board.

Product Details

Rocker Type

3D Power CamberA positive camber profile that offers the edge response of camber without the usual hangups. The base is beveled up from contact points to the ends of the board, releasing the edges where they tend to hook and creating a looser feel.

Flex

Flex Rating: 7 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)Medium-stiff flex for immediate response and loads of control. Less forgiving but is ready to damage rails, kickers, and anything else you toss at it. Well-rounded flex for all-mountain excursions.

Shape

Twin DirectionalSymmetrical tip and tail dimensions with a 20 mm setback for the best balanced freestyle performance in the land

Blunt Nose"How a board glides in powder, crust, corn, or any snow condition more then an inch deep is dictated by its front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow, watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose, you get the float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight." - Jeremy Jones

Progressive SidecutAt the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually decreasing the side cut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Core

Power Core 2.0Triple density full wood core with beech stringers along the edges for power and durability.

Laminates

Carbon Triax FiberglassMulti-layered triax fiberglass meshed with carbon fiber power bands to dampen vibration and add stability.

Fiberglass ReinforcementA new lightweight layer of fiberglass not only adds to the pop in the nose and tail of the board but improves the longevity of the flex profile.

Sidewalls

Recycled ABS SidewallsJones is in it for the long haul, and with sustainability in mind they use only recycled plastic for their sidewalls.

Base

Sintered 9900 BaseSintered UHMW Polyethylene is the fastest and hardest material in the industry and holds wax extremely well.

Edges

Inner and Outside Magne-Traction™ EdgesYou can't afford to lose your edge on that sketchy sidehill traverse, hence Magna-Traction™ on both sides.

Oversized Recycled EdgesRecycled, thicker steel reinforces the snowboard's edges to give you exceptional impact resistance.

Topsheet

Film TopsheetNew film topsheet adds to consistent response and drops weight at the same time.
