    Comments about Mammut Base Jump Touring Pants:

    Bought these pants as a general purpose go-to soft shell for skiing (touring and resort), as well as ice climbing and light mountaineering. So far, they're great. They have a wide range of motion when climbing, but aren't so snug as to look out-of-place when skiing at the resort.

    The water resistance works fine for most things, but don't spend too much time sitting in the snow. I found that they start to wet out after about 5-10 minutes of direct contact. However, they are a soft shell, so that's roughly what I expected.

    The suspenders are removable, which I appreciate. I bought the pants intending to use the suspenders, but found that the built-in belt held the pants up just fine.

    Overall, a great soft shell pant that met all my expectations.
