Salomon Powder Snake Snowboard - Demo 2014

Sink your fangs into some pow with the Salomon Powder Snake Snowboard. With a Pow Rocker profile, Tapered Twin shape, and Aspen Strong core, the Powder Snake is an all terrain, powder hungry beast. Its Quadratic sidecut allows for easy turn initiation, effortless direction changes and fluid edge to edge transitions while still maintaining maximum floatation and response. Forget setting your bindings back when it dumps, ride the Powder Snake. *This is a new demo product used only for show. It has never been used but may have slight cosmetic wear from transit.*
Rocker Type
Pow Rocker - Flat profile between the bindings for stability, with added rocker on the tip and tail for playfulness and floatation
Flex
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Softest - 10 Stiffest) - A medium flex for intermediate riders who prefer a loose, more skate-like feel with a little precision
Shape
Tapered Twin - What makes the Sick Stick ride so well in pow and hardpack is the tapered twin shape. The stance is centered within the effective edge, while the tail is pulled in slightly to help with floatation and response.
Quadratic Sidecut - A blend of elliptic curves for easy turn initiation, effortless direction changes and fluid edge to edge transitions
Core
Aspen Strong - CNC - selected high-density FSC certified wood strips for the inserts and rail zones result in improved impact resistance and a predictable flex all season long.
Popster - Popster technology maximizes the natural snap and powerful pop of wood with Popster's shaped core profile, creating the feeling like your skateboard kicktail finally connected with your snowboard.
Laminates
BA MD - Medium density European-made fiberglass layers for a guaranteed consistency of quality on light and lively boards.
Sidewalls
Royal Rubber Pads - 4 mm Soft Royal Rubber blocks inserted into the high-pressure zones of Salomon's ABS sidewalls for dampening vibrations and mellowing out during the big impacts
Base
Sintered - An industry standard for quality sintered base materials provides a moderate balance between the speed created by a hard surface and good wax retention.
Standard Stone Finish - Salomon's basic stone finish is the industry benchmark for high-end boards.
Edges
All Mountain Edge Bevel - Salomon detuned the tip and tail to a 1 degree edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut, and back to a 2 degree bevel between the feet delivering a solid edge hold with no hang-ups.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Powder
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
