Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2013

The Mod Rocker can do anything you want it to do in a single top to bottom run. From backcountry kickers to deep powder lines to the park, this is your weapon of choice. Built with never ending pop and full control stability, the Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard responds like a Porsche and destroys like a tank.
Rocker Type
FreePop Rocker - With the flat section extending 5 cm outside the inserts, these boards have a park-to-peak amount of pop and edge control. At the same time, the rocker in the nose and tail give float in pow, smooth style on rails and stylish finesse off jumps.

Flex
Flex Rating: 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A stiff flex for powerful turns and lightning quick response
Sidecut
QuickRip Sidecut - Advanced sidecut geometry gives a short, playful feel at slower speeds and a longer, faster and more stable feel at higher speeds. The mid-board contact points end the running length at slow speeds and add grip at high speeds.

True Twin for easy switch riding.
Core
AirPop Core Matrix - Heavy on the non-heavy side of the spectrum (it's superlight) with five zonal regions of low density wood mixed with poplar for high energy transmission and a responsive reaction
HotRods: Carbon Double Barrel - Two milled rods of the lightest, most durable, power-transferring material channel pop to the entire nose and tail with a little extra torsional stiffness.
Laminates
Kevlar Impact Plates - The sweet spot is under the bindings. With all that abuse, the Kevlar in these plates protects your top sheet and transforms chatter, torque and compression into concentrated pop.
SuperlightBiax Laminate - Designed for one thing: to shave the fat and eliminate the weight. This laminate takes a new approach to harnessing flexibility while blending seamlessly with the pop created from HotRods.
Base
SinterCarbon Base - Say no to static friction! With the durable and porous sintered structure as a foundation, carbon nanoadditives reduce friction to eliminate unwanted drag and provide the speed riders crave.
Binding Compatibility
Rome Snowboards will accommodate 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2013:

First off I am not a rocker camber guy, but after riding this board I'll never look back. This board easily added another foot onto my ollies! Rome adds two carbon fiber rods into the nose and tail that make this board ridiculously poppy. Yet it still allows this board to jib rails and crush pow. Beside all of that, the board is very light, durable, and fast! If you are looking to turn the mountain into your park, I would look no further. This board won't disappoint.

Comments about Rome Mod Rocker Snowboard 2013:

After riding Ride boards for the past 8 years, I decided to switch from a camber to a rocker board. I demoed this Rome board and it surprised me on several levels. For one, the rocker on this board definitely rides longer than the 156 size I picked up - feels more like a 159 without sacrificing any carving ability. Second, the pop is super responsive and really fun across the mountain.

I've been freeriding for over 20 years so now I mainly just ride for speed, the occasionally ollie and some deep powder carving. This board fits my needs to T. Excellent board that I would highly recommend!
