This board is a big-mountain/big-line stick that also happens to ride terrificly on the resort. The first 2 runs on my Highlife 168W were on a series of upper 40 degree backcountry chutes in the San Juan Mountains near Silverton, CO and I could not believe how powerful this board was. I was charging on the borderline of scary fast, but the stiffness of the Highlife allowed it to handle like a complete dream at speed on these big, steep chutes. I could tell the difference in the early-rise nose compared to the very similar Ride Yukon that I own. The board, along with the Ride Revolt bindings, felt very responsive both in the powder of the backcountry, as well as the spring conditions at the resort. I am 6'4 and the 168 is the perfect size for me. It's just a tiny bit long for working through skied out trees and moguls, but its a boss in the powder, on the groomers, and any kind of crud. The weight of the board is also amazing. My 168 Highlife is lighter than many of my friend's 154 and 156 boards. I also prefer the advantages of a camber shaped board when it comes to holding a solid edge and additionally like the added float that comes from a rocker nose. The Highlife has both, which easily makes it my favorite board in 12 years of riding.
