Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) The Never Summer SL-R Rocker has medium flex, which means it is still enough for keeping down jitters as you race towards a table top and soft enough for you to jib and tweak to your heart’s content. If you’re looking to take your freestyle game to the next level the Never Summer SL-R Rocker Snowboard is right for you.

Construction and Core

Never Summer’s RDS 3 damping system is a lightweight combination of three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combination of vibration absorption and stability. The RDS 3 system was specifically designed for the SL-R. Never Summer’s exclusive Custom Flight Core is the most technically advanced core system they’ve ever used. The core combines ultra light softwood laminates with vertical layers elastomeric vibration dampers for ultimate performance.

I'm a beginner and caught no edges over 2 days of riding. I think the reverse camber really made a difference.

Comments about Never Summer SL-R Rocker Snowboard 2010:

I purchased the SL this winter for [$] It was expensive, but has been worth it. The quality and feel is second to none. The Rocker/Camber shape preforms significantly better in deep powder than the traditional camber. I primarily snowboard at Jackson Hole, Bridger Bowl, and various back-country spots in Montana and Wyoming. This board has proven to be extremely durable after hitting lots of unmarked trees and rocks.

Comments about Never Summer SL-R Rocker Snowboard 2010:

I have the 161. It's got great flex, it's rocker so it's easy to press and butter, carves great, holds an edge at mach whatever (even on ice). I didn't think a rocker board would be able to handle high speed riding, but this one most definitely can. Every thing that NS says this board can do...it does. Amazing deck.

Comments about Never Summer SL-R Rocker Snowboard 2010:

This is the best board I have ridden. The vario point sidewall combined with the rocker and camber makes this board hold an edge even on ice. I prefer this over magnetraction because it offers a smoother ride yet still keeping an edge in the icy conditions of east coast mountains. It takes little effort to make short and wide radius turns. I got this board primarily for freeriding with some visits to the park. It's flexible enough to have fun jibbing at the park although if you're thinking of spending most of your time there, I would recommend the evo-r. Riding has never been easier or more fun.
