Comments about Never Summer Raptor X Wide Snowboard 2012:

I was worried about going from a cambered snowboard to this new rocker camber design but this is the best snowboard I've ever owned hands down. Its great on everything from hard pack to powder. With the rocker design the effective edge is huge so it really holds when you're carving

Comments about Never Summer Raptor X Wide Snowboard 2012:

Held in holding pattern until the snowpack was just right, I christened the RaptorX 169 on a 3 foot powder day. Let's just say I talked to God.

On first turn I new I was in a different space. The board likes to go. It felt light, angry and ready to roll. Very fun to maneuver. Then I dropped my first steep and the game really changed:

With a Carbon topsheet and built like a brickhouse, I expected it to respond a bit stiff and bouncy. My Roundhouse and SkunkApe had that character (the SkunkApe less of). I don't know how, but the Raptor X is a different animal - it sliced and diced the powder effortlessly. My eyes and mind popped at the expansion of possibilities. It was buttery smooth in the powder, leaving carnage in its wake. This board is an experience.

It's wound to absorb any bump you might see while springy on any intended hit. I was impressed with how lightweight it felt and how it screams in the flat. After the first run, I new that this board alone ups a rider's skillset.

For the downside, it will draw eyes and attention. Don't leave this thing unattended (unfortunately). Plus, the pricetag can give one some heartburn. Obviously this isn't a park board either.

I'm thrilled by the purchase can't wait to explore more. This is a big mountain beast.

Comments about Never Summer Raptor X Wide Snowboard 2012:

I rode a 169cm NS Raptor X wide all last winter all over Snowbird, Utah. I sold its predecessor the NS Titan Wide to go with the new Double Camber/Rocker Technology. If you are still riding an "Old Skool" board without the double camber/Rocker Technology you do not know what you are missing. I have been riding since 1995 and this board is just plain forgiving. This new technology will make you a better rider instantly. No more accidental edge catching even with the increased responsiveness. You bust through crud and bumps like a mad man! The board floats bigger than it is in the POW, so much that I am downsizing to a 165cm this season. I am a big guy that rides hard and aggressive. I tried to destroy the top laminate last season riding the trees but the board is built solid tip to tail. Never seen a tougher Top Laminate—Having kids run over it all the time with their skis in the lift lines proves it also. Buy the Raptor X you won't be disappointed…
