Product Details

Flex

The perfect companion for riders who love big mountain freestyle, the Never Summer Heritage Snowboard has a medium flex that is perfect for intermediate riders looking to advance. Throw in the rocker and you’ve got a board that is fun and snappy underfoot.

Construction and Core

The NS SuperLight Wood Core is designed specifically for the new Carbonium series, this core blends ultralight wood with durable hardwood for an unmatched strength to weight ratio. More carbon equals more power and performance. The new Carbonium laminate technology combines an advanced top and base carbon matrix to maximize torsional response and strength where it’s needed most. The result is a lightweight yet powerful design that will keep this board going strong for years. The CDS Damping System greatly reduces vibration and provides unmatched high speed stability and control. Thin elastomeric rubber stringers reduce vibration from the metal edge and surrounding laminates. Stringers below the inserts and under the carbon dampen any additional vibration near the bindings, giving this board a smooth riding feel underfoot without sacrificing snap and power throughout the board.

Base

Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base specifically for this board. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the Durasuft XT Sintered 5501 Base the fastest Never Summer has ever used.

Sidewalls and Edges

Sintered P-tex Sidewalls are unlike conventional ABS sidewalls that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures. Sintered P-tex Sidewalls maintain their integrity at any temperature. STS Pretensioned Fiberglass is the world’s best snowboard fiberglass, period. It is a pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving this snowboard unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

When every Never Summer Heritage is built, Hermione Granger apparates into the factory to weave highly advanced spells for lightness, grip and power into each layer of the board. This makes it the most magical board available to us muggles, guaranteeing an advantage on the hill to the lucky owner, which s/he will feel in every turn.

The first time you step onto your Heritage, the bond is made (just like in Avatar when Jake captured his flying mount!) and the board is linked to your motor cortex, enabling it to seamlessly track lines, as you visualize them, with minimal musculoskeletal effort.

It will handle edge-to-edge like a much smaller board, and once a turn is initiated you are locked in securely until such time as you decide to terminate the turn. Bumps, chunks, porcupines or small children shall not deter the Heritage from its chosen path. It will either smooth obstacles out with its magical dampening properties or simply blast through through whatever is in the way much like Batman's Tumbler.

You will go faster, and with more confidence than you imagined possible. You will push multiple Gs on groomers and float over powder like an angel. You will lead your crew through glades as if it were Endor and you were blasting through on one of those ballistic hover-cycle things. The more you ask of the Heritage, the more she will reward you.

As Serenity is to the Firefly class, so is the Never Summer Heritage to Snowboards. Having experienced the Heritage, to allow your feet to touch another board is utterly blasphemous.

THIS is the board Buffy would ride.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

I rode this board for the first time at June and Mammoth over New Years(most snow in the world at that time according to the web), and the Heritage was really impressive. I took it through (really) tight trees which had waist-deep powder, and it felt so easy to turn and float that I found myself taking lines I wouldn't have considered before on my traditional cambered board (a Rossi Jones Experience). I also hiked to some steeper and deeper sections (Hemlock Bowls and Dragon's Tail at Mammoth, and Upper Carson and some out of bounds at June), and never felt like I was undergunned, even in a foot + of fresh pow on a couple of days. My concerns before I bought it were that the board wouldn't be stiff enough to hold at speed and would wash when I was straight-lining on groomers. I can say the board stuck a line like nothing I've ever ridden. Plus, when I was riding less steep groomers with my girlfriend, the Heritage felt super playful and loose, which made riding switch really fun. Basically, the RC Tech really makes the board feel like two boards in one. I don't ride park much these days, but I did hit some natural features (wind lips and small rock drops), and the board has good pop. I rode with my stance set back so I had about 2" of more nose than tail, and I never got leg burn or buried the nose. And that was in knee to waist deep powder, and making fresh tracks. With that same stance, riding switch felt easy, even in the left over pow on the side of the groomers and in the open trees. Bottom line: buy this board.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

First off best company in the industry. They softened this board up a bit from last year which makes it even more versatile. With it being softer this year it is more of a all mountain freestyle board. Very fun board that has a playful flex and is still stiff enough to rip the crud and big mountain lines.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

This board was super smooth. A little stiff and heavy for my tastes, but it was solid. I took it faster than I've ever gone on any other snowboard and wasn't scared in the least, and usually I'm a total wuss. Edge-hold was great but because of the rocker it wasn't at all grabby, all in all a really fun ride for bombing groomers or going big!

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

I have ridden never summer for about 4 years now (ride any of them and you won't go back). I started off the year with a small SL. first year I owned any of their reverse camber stuff. then around Christmas realized I was going to Squaw for a few months. Took me for ever to find the right size. but once I got it I was in love. I seriously have never owned a big mountain board I liked. I like small boards I can pop around on, but on the other hand I live for pow. this was the perfect board.

has all the pop you want for fooling around on the groomer, and all the stiffness you need for big mountain. And the best was I didn't flex the thing out (which I can usually do after riding a stick over 50 times a winter).

I can't say enough about this board. goes everywhere, and makes life fun while doing it.

            BUY ONE.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

I bought the NS Heritage because I found the Lib Tech T.Rice I was riding to not be stable enough at high speeds. In fairness to the T.Rice (which I think is a fantastic board) I had the 157 which is on the small side for my 5'10" 220lb self. I got the 162 Heritage a) for the added length and b) I had read a lot of good things about NS and wanted to try one...the Heritage seemed the best of their line for the riding I do which is mostly freeriding with a little freestyle thrown in.

I like the fact that the Heritage is very quick edge to edge and has a playful feel that the T.Rice didn't have. This serves me very well at my local resort here on the east coast and riding with my son who only has a couple seasons of riding. I found the Heritage to be very easy to ride switch which I don't do often but found myself doing more because of the ease. The Heritage rides much more flexible than the T.Rice which adds to the playful feel but yet it still is able to hold a good edge even in icy conditions.

Overall the Heritage is a top notch board that won't beat you up.

Comments about Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011:

Let me start off by saying that I am not a professional, and my experiance with boards is very limited. My only experiance with using my own snowboards were from a company called "Now" and "Forum" snowboards. I steadily went snowboarding roughly 6 times a year for about 6 years then I stopped completely for 5 years. I was convinced to go ride again this winter and instantly was re-hooked. The only boards that I could use was the rental boards from the resort, which were Solomon and Rossignol. After having 1 session under my belt I decided to purchase my own gear and I'm glad I chose the heritage board. Switching from a rental board to this board was complete night and day, in a good way. I felt completly in control and took myself faster and carved deeper and harder than I ever had on any board that I have every used. As I mentioned my experiance with different boards is limited, but what I can say is that this board feels natural. I have no fear using this board and my only limitation is my own fear of how hard I want to ride. I only ride at groomed resorts and this board handles great in those conditions. All in all I am very impressed with the heritage board.
