Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011

Never Summer Heritage Rocker Snowboard 2011: Like the freeride inspired Raptor, the new Carbonium Series Never Summer Heritage Snowboard is equipped with the new NS SuperLight woodcore and extensive carbon reinforcement (Carbon Laminate Technology) to power this big mountain free-style board anywhere on the mountain. Super snappy, yet powerful and lightweight, the Heritage is comfortable charging full speed down groomers, in the trees, or slaying the park with absolutely no sacrifice in quality and durability. This is a truly versatile all mountain freestyle machine!
Flex
The perfect companion for riders who love big mountain freestyle, the Never Summer Heritage Snowboard has a medium flex that is perfect for intermediate riders looking to advance. Throw in the rocker and you’ve got a board that is fun and snappy underfoot.
Construction and Core
The NS SuperLight Wood Core is designed specifically for the new Carbonium series, this core blends ultralight wood with durable hardwood for an unmatched strength to weight ratio. More carbon equals more power and performance. The new Carbonium laminate technology combines an advanced top and base carbon matrix to maximize torsional response and strength where it’s needed most. The result is a lightweight yet powerful design that will keep this board going strong for years. The CDS Damping System greatly reduces vibration and provides unmatched high speed stability and control. Thin elastomeric rubber stringers reduce vibration from the metal edge and surrounding laminates. Stringers below the inserts and under the carbon dampen any additional vibration near the bindings, giving this board a smooth riding feel underfoot without sacrificing snap and power throughout the board.

Base
Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base specifically for this board. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the Durasuft XT Sintered 5501 Base the fastest Never Summer has ever used.
Sidewalls and Edges
Sintered P-tex Sidewalls are unlike conventional ABS sidewalls that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures. Sintered P-tex Sidewalls maintain their integrity at any temperature. STS Pretensioned Fiberglass is the world’s best snowboard fiberglass, period. It is a pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving this snowboard unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker
    Rocker
A rocker board side profile is the opposite of a camber board, with a smooth downward curvature to it and less edge contact length when the board is weighted. Rocker boards float well in powder and pivot more easily underfoot. They also tend to be less “hooky” at both tip and tail and better for landing spin maneuvers when you don’t quite have enough rotation.
