Flex
Flex rating: 4 (1 softest-10 stiffest) The Evo’s flex allows riders to manipulate the board for a buttery fun and playful ride.
The EDS dampening system delivers increased edgehold and high speed stability without compromising the freestyle performance
Construction and Core
Press Flex Core creates soft points between your feet giving you better hinge points for ultimate pressing and ollie power.
STS Pretensioned Fiberglass is pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers between the 0-90degree glass fibers the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond, and thus a stronger board is better edge hold and performance.
Bi-Lite fiberglass has a ultra-light glass fiber matrix that delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
Carbon VXR Laminate Technology has dual carbon v’s that help transfer more energy to the end of the effective edge, tip and tail without making the board too stiff for buttering and presses.
Shape
Never Summer’s award winning Rocker & Camber Design offers the fun that you want from rocker and the stability that you need from camber. This one-of-a-kind shape offers you superior power and snap out of turns as well as stability in parks, pow or groomers.
Vario Power Grip sidecut adds increased edge hold precisely where it’s needed most giving you added control and response in any condition
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Sintered P-Tex Sidewall maintain their integrity at any temperature and are far more durable than ABS sidewalls
Full wrap metal edge gives you smooth carving
Durasurf Sintered 4501 base is a high density base that is both fast and durable

Comments about Never Summer Evo Snowboard 2012:

I rode an SL for 2 years, just switched to the EVO and have to say the EVO pretty much rules the earth.

Which ever one you get, make sure you get the right size. The size chart on this web site is correct. Do yourself a favor and follow it. You want to be right around the middle of the recommended weight range. That way you get to feel the board the way never summer meant it to be felt. And if your boots take a size large binding you buy the revolver, that's what it was made for. Big feet = wider board or you end up doing weird things with your stance. That's not the way the board was made to be ridden either.

I'm 6'0" 165lbs. My old board was a CustomX 164 wide. Big and fast. The chart says I should buy an SL 164 or a EVO 160. I listened to all the people online who don't know what they are talking about and bought an SL 2 sizes too small at a 158. It was ok carving due to the rocker, but it was real squirrelly at high speed. I ride hard and fast and like to do the big booters. It was a too mushy, I totally overpowered it. I was never quite as confident going into jumps and landing as on my customX because I was too heavy for the board. I overpowered the pop of the board too. Because of that I couldn't go as high off jumps or spin as much as on my customX, which isn't even a freestyle board. The SL washed out in the pipe too because it wasn't stiff enough for the ice walls here in the northeast. I lost speed in the flats too because I was too big for it. It did enjoy the feel of it and it did ok for me for a couple years, but I need something bigger to get more speed and bigger air and to handle the pipe walls. I was going to get the SL 164 but thought I'd try the EVO sice I've been riding and jumpping switch a lot. I got the right size for me this time which is a 160 for the EVO.

OH MAN! The SL was more fun then other boards I tried or borrowed. But this! This thing is a beast! It's million times better than my too small SL, and I thought that board was pretty sweet. One run on this EVO and I'm already having more fun then I've ever had on a snowboard. It took my skills and confidence to the next plane of snowboarding existence. And I thought I was already an expert. I'm now as fast and stable as on my big customX and don't lose any speed on the flats. I can pop off nothing and do little tricks and wail into the big jumps at full speed and do some crazy stuff that last year I couldn't even contemplate. I'm leaning over so far when I carve my fingers touch the snow almost eveytime I turn. I can go full speed, lay into a carve, go all the way around so I'm going back up the hill, then keep going till I'm going back down again, all without breaking the carve. That puts a smile on my face from ear to ear everytime. I took it through the woods on a few days, lots of moguly stuff, it handled it no problem. East coast killington style conditions aka "groomed ice", carves that up too. And the evo's a twin so it lets me do everything backwards too:)

Never summer RC rocker = Awesome! Unless you are a beginner and like really squishy boards, buy the right size. If you are trying to decide between the SL and EVO and you want to do some combination of park and all mountain cruising and are worried the evo might not be as good for all mountain, don't worry if you buy the EVO, it's fast and stable and pretty much rules everything. A properly sized EVO is infinitely better than a too small SL for high speed carving. Don't listen to the people who weigh 180lbs and are trying to ride a 150 or 154 like I did. That's not the way this thing was meant to be ridden. It wants to go fast, hard, and big.

Comments about Never Summer Evo Snowboard 2012:

Neversummer quality is top notch. This board offers one of the best hybrid designs to give you the flexibility of a jib stick and the dampness to land med-large jumps and cut through the chop. Blunted tips make more of a noticible difference than you'd think. I still like to have a stiffer board for freeride heavy days, but if you are limited to a one stick quiver, then this is a great compromise.

Comments about Never Summer Evo Snowboard 2012:

I have ridded this board for a full season and recently hopped back on my Burton Custom. I felt the Evo was way more fun and easy to ride. Totally absorbing any chop on the way down the hill. This board is flexy, fun, forgiving and super playful. Presses and manuals are effortless. Base is super durable.

I put that I think this board is heavy because it IS heavier than any other board I have ridden. I had a regualar camber Evo Art a few years back and that thing was incredibly light compared to this R.C. Evo. The weight isnt noticed so much while shredding, but while skating and cruising up on the chair lift.

All in all I would recommend this board to someone of any ability level who wants a durable, fun snowboard that can cruise the whole mountain at decent speed and rip it up on jibs.
