Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2BTX HP Wide Snowboard 2013

Big dudes who ride progressively and want to lighten the load on their feet will love the Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2BTX HP Wide Snowboard. Resident Lib “Big Dude” Kyle Phillips insisted that jumbo-sized riders need lightweight construction since their boards are always wider to start with, and Lib Tech delivered. C2 Power Banana shaping puts the power of rocker under your feet, and a directional twin geometry and Power Transfer sidewalls keep it real.
Rocker Type
C2 BTX - C2 Banana Tech Camber Combo has Banana Rocker between your feet for hard carving goodness plus full camber at tip and tail for precision and stability.

Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 7
Shape
Directional Twin Geometries - Effortless freestyle and freeride geometry: Twin chassis (from contact to contact) but with an ever so slightly longer nose than tail allows the board to float on powder and blasts through crud. It's a Twin with an advantage.
Core
Columbian Gold Core - Experimental new dead tree with the highest compression response ever used in a snowboard
Power Transfer Internal Sidewalls - Tip-to-tail internal "sidewalls" with end-grain orientation transfer energy directly to your edges.
Laminates
Horsepower Construction - 100% Basalt (no traditional fiberglass) is reinforced, lively and damp
Edges
Magne-Traction™ - Serrated edges slice through the snow with 7 strategically located and sized bumps along each side of your sidecut giving you insane edge hold and precision control. The biggest bumps are at and between your feet where your balance is centered adding maximum control and power where you need it most. The bumps outside your feet are smaller and less aggressive providing tip and tail control but maintaining freestyle freedom.

Topsheet
Bio-Plastic Beans - A bio-plastic top skin made from beans that features the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry

Comments about Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2BTX HP Wide Snowboard 2013:

First and foremost this is my first board. I have always rented my equipment. I decided it was time to suck it up and buy my own. I was a skateboarder for 15 years so balls have never been my problem. One thing I learned is that you want your equipment to disappear so that you are free to chase your dreams as you see fit. On to the board.

This board is not technically recommended for me. I'm 6'2 165lbs and I wear 10-10.5. However my K2 Raiders are 11. I chose a wide board because I love lean angle. My theory was that the wider the board, the more lean you get without toe drag. Combine this with Magna Traction and it never lets go even on ice. The power banana makes transitioning from side to side a snap. And the light weight noise and tail make the board move faster laterally. There are many other very good qualities to this board that I don't have the experience to verify but Travis Rice rides for Lib.. Need I say more?

My final thought on the board goes to the company who makes it. USA born and bred. Produced by snowboarders who ride them. Support local including the fantastic company who sold it to me. Cheers to EVO
