Beginner progression starts on the K2 First Lite Snowboard. The user-friendly features of the First Lite make carving and stopping much easier. Catching an edge which leads to falling is all too familiar for snowboarders learning to carve. With Catch Free Baseline™ technology aiming to mellow out edge contact with the snow, the chances of a crash are few and far between. The subtle Rocker underfoot will bolster your riding confidence. Rocker gives the snowboard a steady and predictable platform for quick-learning. The essentials for shred do not end there: the First Lite has a dual progressive shape made for consistent riding. The K2 First Lite Snowboard transcends rider's limits with progression from day 1 to day 1000.
Rocker Type
Catch Free Baseline™ - By bringing the contact points out of the snow, turns happen before the edge bites and - voila! - no, catch. This small amount of Rocker results in more confidence throughout the learning curve and unlocks faster progression on all terrain.
Flex Rating: 2 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - This snowboard is going to be 'soft' which is perfect for beginners who need a stable platform to balance on that won't be too hard to control. Soft snowboards are more forgiving and lower speeds to optimize progression.
W1 - K2's standard core. This core is characterized by a single species of pure wood which offers flex, durability, and responsiveness.
Rhythm - K2's Rhythm Core is uniquely shaped and designed to contour to women's riding style and finesse.
Biaxial - The classic structure laminate, biaxial glass provides smooth all-purpose performance.
Hybritech™ - An efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. This construction features sidewall along the running surface that flows into the nose and tail to provide low swing-weight, optimized turn initiation, and durability.
2000 Extruded - This base material is fast in a variety of conditions, it's easy to maintain and exceptionally durable.
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
Base Bevel: 3º - The base bevel is the degree at which the base edge is tuned to for edge engagement. The more bevel the more rider input is necessary to angle the board for carving precision. With this slight base bevel a rider will experience a mellow ride for softer snow conditions and / or less edge-catch.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Flat
A flat profile is just as you’d expect – flat from near the tip of the board to near the tail. This shape splits the difference between camber and rocker, with more forgiving turnability than a fully cambered board and more precise edging capability than a fully rockered one
  • Shape: Directional Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
