Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard 2013

Have you ever looked out in the distance at some nasty peak and thought: "If only I had the equipment to shred that, then I would be all over it."? Well now you have no more excuses to not go out and find the sickest terrain because the Jones Flagship Wide snowboard is here. Jeremy Jones himself trusts the Flagship on his first descents every winter. Due to the Blunt Nose shape and Mellow Magne-Traction edges you'll have superior float over pow while still being able to grip ice just like an ice pick would. The Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard will keep your mind on the mountains instead of work all winter long.
Rocker Type
Directional Rocker - This hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern is defined by more tip rocker than tail rocker and slight camber between the bindings. The rockered tip gives the nose added float and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot gives you added edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft – 10 Stiff) - 8, perfect for backcountry and big mountain riding
Shape
Blunt Nose - A blunt nose adds the flotation benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight.
Core
FSC Wood Core - The wood is derived from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
Full Wood Cores - Full poplar and beech wood gives the board more solid snap.
Laminates
Carbon Stringers - Improving pop and torsional stiffness and increasing the longevity of the flex profile while providing durability that makes day 100 feel just like day 1 - precise and playful
Triax Fiberglass - All Jones Snowboards include TRIAX Fiberglass, utilizing dual density fibers to strengthen high impact zone without adding weight or changing the over all flex of the board.
Base
Sintered Base - This is the fastest natural base material available due to it's durability and the ability to absorb/retain wax. Added carbon nano particles create a better glide over the snow.
Recycled Base - P-Tex scraps are recycled into new bases to reduce the carbon footprint of the board.
Flip Flop Base - By flip flopping the base graphic colors, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced due to an increase in the material yield.
Edges
Mello Magne-Traction - Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Magn-Traction improves edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.
Stronger Edges - A 250% increase in impact resistance is due to the 35% more steel Jones uses in their edges compared to the industry standard.
Topsheet
Wood Topsheet - The wood topsheet dampens the ride for chatter-free performance while reducing the carbon foot print of having to produce plastic/lacquer prodcuts.
Additional Features
Stone Grind Finish - All boards come with a stone grind finish to ensure the proper structure of the board.
Alu Protrect - State of the art strength aluminum tip protectors: elastomer is bonded to the aluminum to absorb vibrations.
Protect Our Winters - Protect Our Winters is the environmental center point of the winter sports community, united towards a common goal of reducing climate change's effects on boarding and local mountain communities.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freeride
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker shapes seek to give you both hard-carving edgehold on firm snow from camber underfoot with enhanced turnability and float in powder from the rockered tip and tail. This profile is increasingly popular for freeride boards designed primarily for soft snow.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Pow Slayer

Comments about Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard 2013:

The Flagship's ability to slay pow is unparalleled. This thing floats like none other, and allows you to charge as fast as you want while still being in complete control. Definitely on the stiffer side, so if you're looking for a more versatile, forgiving board, I'd look elsewhere. But as your burly, pow board, you really can't miss with the Flagship.

Fly this Flag at full staff

Comments about Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard 2013:

My demo of the Jones Flagship, simply put, was a joyous encounter. I was blown away at how well it bit. I honestly felt it was more grabby than any of the Mervin stuff I have ridden and that turned out to be something I really loved. Being that it is an all mountain deck, its slightly directional in some of its design. For the rider who rides one direction and when getting tricky, does only 3s, 7s, and 10s, this deck will help you kill it. Straight lining, chutes, cliff drops, pow slashes...all will be dominated via this deck. Although it does not ride super well switch, it is not designed to do so. Who needs to ride switch when riding normal is this much fun?

Comments about Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard 2013:

This board is a great addition to the quiver. Made for big mountain riding and powder. It's very light weight for its size, has great edge control and a good turning radius for a stiffer board. The rocket and camber help maximize the edge and it's got great speed. Just waiting to get it in some real powder to test it's true potential.

Comments about Jones Flagship Wide Snowboard 2013:

I used this board for the first time at Crystal when the powder was literally three feet deep at the summit and was blown away. The rocker/camber/rocker profile gave me amazing control while giving me the float I needed. I wanted to test the speed and just pointed the board strait down Powder Bowl (ridiculously steep at the top) and was speechless at the acceleration. If you want to go way to fast and have an amazing time doing it then pick this up!
