The Jones Aviator Snowboard is an award-winning quiver killer. This razor sharp and directional freestyle board is a team rider favorite and was built for ultimate stability on the ground as well as in the air. Nimble handling and sound-barrier busting acceleration are direct results of the Aviators kick-ass 3D Power Camber profile. The camber profile is also innovative in that it helps reduce hang-ups thanks to its beveled edges at the camber contact points. The result is a looser, less-catchy feel without sacrificing any edge hold. You can't go wrong with the Jones Aviator Snowboard!
Rocker Type
3D Power Camber - An innovative traditional camber profile tweaked to offer the insane edge response of camber without the usual hang-ups. The board profile crosses over into the third dimension as the base is beveled up at the edges from the contact points of the camber to the ends of the board. The base beveling releases the edges where they like to hook which balances the pop and directional stability of camber with a looser, less-catchy feel.
Flex
Flex rating: 7 (1 softest - 10 stiffest)
Shape
Blunt Nose - "How a board glides in powder, crust, corn, or any snow condition more then an inch deep is dictated by its front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight." - Jeremy Jones
Progressive Sidecut - At the far ends of the side cut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually decreasing the side cut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
Core
Power Core - Full-wood dual-density core featuring light, strong, and dimensionally stable hardwood stringers that improve durability.
Laminates
Triax Fiberglass - Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
Sidewalls
Recycled ABS - ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.
Base
Sintered 9900 Base - The fastest, most durable and wax absorbent natural base material available.
Stone Ground Finish - For unmatched glide and wax adhesion, Jones finishes the bases of their boards with a stone ground structure pattern that's race ready in all snow conditions.
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
Edges
Stronger Edges - Jones added 35% more steel than a typical edge, what this achieves is a 250% increase in impact resistance compared to standard edges.
Mellow Magne-Traction - Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Magne-Traction improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of the board. "Magne-Traction is a key ingredient for rockered board designs. Adding rocker to your board makes it glide more smoothly, but it makes it harder to really lock into your turns and hold a solid edge. Magne-Traction is crucial to offset the drift typical of rocker flex patterns." - Jeremy Jones
Topsheet
Film Topsheet - Film topsheets provide the stiffness and impact resistance of a normal topsheet while significantly reducing weight by decreasing the thickness of the topsheet material.
Additional Features
Factory Tuned - All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail plus waxed with OneBallJay Bio Wax so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.
  • Shape: Directional
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
