The GNU Smart Pickle PBTX Snowboard is designed around the human body to make snowboarding easier. Your body isn't symmetric, so why should your snowboard be? The Smart Pickle is all about asymmetry. Turning dynamics for heelside and toe are different, so the toeside sidecut is a little longer and features a mellower version of Magne-Traction, while the heelside side cut is tighter and features traditional Magne-Traction. This allows the board to work with your body dynamics for a smoother, easier ride. The mad scientists at GNU are pretty darn bright, so why not try their Smart Pickle?
Rocker Type
Banana BTX - Rocker between your feet combined with flat to mild camber out to the contact points results in easy riding and turning, great jibbing and epic float in pow.

Flex
Flex 5.5 - 6.5 Depending on Size - Medium stiff flex handles everything from corduroy, powder, to big mountain obstacles. A slightly stiffer medium flex is designed to be versatile with a focus towards freeriding.
Shape
True Twin - A symmetrical shape for equally precise performance riding regular or switch
Smart Pickle - Deeper heelside sidecut // Asym "Pickle Barrel" core softer heelside flex // Smart Formula asymmetric Magne-Traction
Core
Paulownia - Incredible, ultra-lightweight, strong and poppy. Growing up to 20 feet a year once harvested, it grows back out of its own stump, making it extremely renewable.
Great Lakes Aspen - Light, strong, smooth riding, higher density Aspen. The backbone to every Gnu.
Colombian Gold - Strong, poppy, extra-light, golden colored, fast growing farmed wood
Sidewalls
UHMW External Sidewalls - Fast. Rugged. Hard. Waterproof. No toxic ABS, do it for the kids.
Base
Sintered Base - Fast, tough, maximum wax retention.
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
Edges
Smart Formulat Asymmetric Magne-Traction - Incorporates a heelside Power Serration and a Finesse Serration on your toeside

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker
    Rocker
A rocker board side profile is the opposite of a camber board, with a smooth downward curvature to it and less edge contact length when the board is weighted. Rocker boards float well in powder and pivot more easily underfoot. They also tend to be less “hooky” at both tip and tail and better for landing spin maneuvers when you don’t quite have enough rotation.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
