GNU Forest Spaceout PTX Snowboard - Blem 2013

Forest Bailey is back on the grind introducing the GNU Forest Spaceout PTX Snowboard, designed to harmonize your body's natural asymmetries balancing the strengths of each side's turning mechanics. The Magne-Traction™ edges give you precise fingertip-like edge control and EC2 PBTX contour offers an easy ride and catch-free park freestyle performance. With the GNU Forest Spaceout PTX Snowboard, it's time to get weird where new levels of performance and good times will be realized. Note: *This is a factory blem board and may have slight cosmetic damage.*
Rocker Type
EC2 PBTX - Banana Rocker between your feet, elliptical camber at the tip and tails; this board rides halfway between Banana Tech and C2. It focuses a mild amount of pressure between your feet for carving, edge grip on ice, float in powder, and has the pop and tip-to-tail stability to stomp whatever you launch.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 5-6 depending on size, a medium/stiff flex for easy turn initiation and forgiving landings
Shape
Twin Asymmetric - Symmetrical nose and tail shape, asymmetric sidecuts in middle
Sidecut
Pickle Technology - Asymmetric sidecuts and construction to balance the different turning mechanics required for heelside and toeside turns: Your body is asymmetric, your snowboard should be asymmetric.
Core
Mervin AG Asymmetric Aspen
Base
Sintered UHMW - This super tough base material holds wax well due to its compression formed amorphous polymer structure.
Edges
Magne-Traction - The serrated edges cut into the snow like a knife, giving you more edge hold and control than ever before, featuring 7 strategically located and sized bumps along each side of your sidecut. The biggest bumps are at and between your feet adding maximum control and power, while the bumps outside your feet are smaller and less aggressive providing tip and tail control but maintaining freestyle freedom.
Binding Compatibility
2x4

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
