Forum Scallywag Chilly Dog Rocker Snowboard 2010: Make room for these tattooed rascals in the landing, because they will be stomping their tricks while flat-based riders are sweeping for the buried treasure of their goggles. It’s not the screaming, pillaging or drinking of ale – although that helps – but the Chilly Dog technology that gives the Scallywag a mutinous arrrrrrrrrrrr. The continuous reverse camber floats the board either forward or switch, butters like margarine in the park and prevents hook on its way up the transition.
- Flex and Rider Style:Flex: 4 (1 Softer – 10 Stiffer) The Scallywag is built for an intermediate rider who is ready to step it up and wants a board with enough flex to soak up the pow and lap the park.
- Construction and Core:Popular Core: The freestyle feel of poplar laminates makes this a popular core with mass appeal. Light, flexible and forgiving with an easy float in deep snow and more pop that foam // Chilly Dog Tech: Shaped like a boiled brat instead of a slippery banana, dead fish or ‘80s rocker, Forum’s continuous radius rise will surface when pointed either tip or tail first. The Chilly Dog hits transitions smoothly, won’t plow into the lip and resurfaces like bad onions and jalapenos when landing switch.
- Sidewalls and Edges:Swingers Club Tech: CNC machines profile Forum wood cores so the ends are as skinny as a supermodel. Less density at the ends also means the tip rises faster in untracked terrain, making for a quick exit from sketchy situations
- Base:Freebase: This base comes free with the board and glides on a snowy surface. Waxes easy, looks good with die-cut graphics and protects the core from getting worked.
