For the powder hounds searching for soul turns comes the 2014 Flow Darwin Snowboard. The Darwin features a large, wide nose and tapered tail for that super floaty feeling all powder hounds crave. The 2 piece A.B.T. base and swallow tail create a type of hydrofoil in the deep stuff that keeps you on top, yet can still carve on the groomers. This is a natural selection for those who seek the steep and deep!
Rocker Type
Pow Cam (Camber) - Three-phase camber with a floating rockered nose for powder with the grip/pop of camber. Traditional camber under the feet and flat between the bindings for added grip on ice and better float in the pow. Ultimate powder and carving performance.

Flex
Flex Rating: 3.5 (1 Soft - 5 Stiff) - A stiffer flex for precise control in turns and on steeper terrain.

Shape
All Mountain Directional - Slightly more nose than tail, a setback insert pattern and flex for more pop off the tail and better float in powder.
Core
Re-Flex Core - Flow's lightest, most responsive core with the highest strength-to-weight wood construction known to man. Focused response where you need it, and more low-to-mid-density woods in specific locations to increase strength while decreasing weight.
Laminates
Quadrax - With most fibers running tip-to-tail at a 30 degree angle, the matrix gives tons of pop with torsional freedom while distributing binding power over a larger area.
Whiskey Rocks - Four Basalt plates beneath the heel and toe direct the rider's energy to the key control areas on the board. It also doubles the breaking strength and increases edge hold in all conditions without compromising a smooth ride.
Whiskey Shooters - One of a kind reverse V-design using 4 carbon strips for crazy pop while keeping the nose/tail loose for a fun and agile ride with a lively feel.
Sidewalls
ABS Sidewall - Tough, light and durable
Base
Sintered 4000 - Highest speed, super hard, high wax absorbing and durable
2 Piece A.B.T. - 2-piece augmented base technology is specifically designed for powder riding and chunky snow conditions. It acts as a tracking element in the deep pow and as a vibration dampener at high speeds.
Edges
Progressive-DT Sidecut - 3-Phase sidecut that has flat areas in the bindings and a different radius between the feet that is mellow for Pow-Rock or tight for Pow-Cam. Combined with a progressive arc and mellow tips, PDT delivers a surfy ride with unparalleled grip

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Powder
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
This features rocker in the nose and a camber extending under the feet through the tail. It is Built for riders that demand superior grip, stability, and responsive performance, but who still want to be able to float in powder.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
