CAPiTA Outdoor Living Snowboard 2013

During the Age of Enlightenment, belief in Vampires greatly increased throughout Europe. Their mystery and dangerous powers captured the fear of thousands of Europeans. This year, ride a snowboard that encompasses this phenomena with the CAPiTA Outdoor Living Snowboard. The Outdoor Living offers a Zero Camber profile, which perfectly distributes your weight so hittin' rails and boxes is remarkably easy. Pick up a board that will drain the soul out the park this year with the CAPiTA Outdoor Living Snowboard.
Rocker Type
Zero Camber - Flat camber from contact point to contact point provides a slightly looser, easier to ride feel, without reducing the effective edge that results from full rocker shapes.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 5, perfect for freestyle riding
Sidecut
Radial True Twin - A radial sidecut is a single radius design causing your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc.
Core
RFC Sustainable Core - The original eco-friendly core offers a sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected from a CAPiTA core. Made from poplar wood, that is 100% sustainable, containing no irregularities which allows for an enhanced response and uniform flex pattern.
Laminates
Special Blend Evo Tech - This is a wet lay-up process that uses a polyurethane based resin component requiring lower consumption of energy and yielding higher technical properties. This adhesion process improves the factory's working environment, as it does not contain some of the same harsh chemicals used in resins at other factories. An optimum blend of biaxial glass weaves laminated in conjunction with dual "black fleece" additives on top of the core add to the boards flex and stability. Underneath the core, the board is beefed up by multiple shape-specific 30 mm carbon fiber beams.
Base
Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and the overwhelming choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Flat
    Flat
A flat profile is just as you’d expect – flat from near the tip of the board to near the tail. This shape splits the difference between camber and rocker, with more forgiving turnability than a fully cambered board and more precise edging capability than a fully rockered one
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Comments about CAPiTA Outdoor Living Snowboard 2013:

I really could not ask for more when selecting an all around park board. I can take this thing from icy groomers at 8am straight into the park and even use it for urban when we get snow around these parts. The flex is enough to get a solid press, but stiff enough so that it doesn't get squirly on those big jump landings. I really like the flat camber as well, because it gives a super solid underfoot feel with no chatter at basically any speed. That being said, the only complaint I really have is that the base is a little weak when it comes to scratching it up, and requires some regular maintenance, but you can expect that from a quality made sintered base. Thanks CAPiTA.

Comments about CAPiTA Outdoor Living Snowboard 2013:

The whole ride felt like butter- like surfing wet hot melted butter. The flex is soft and fluid which personally I love in a freestyle/park board. Rode mostly through the park and it seemed really solid on features; and took off really well for medium/small jumps. It probably wouldn't cut super well through icy moguls, but why would you ride this board there any way? But, this still had just enough to rail at higher speeds. I rode a 154 and it was a perfect length for jibbing around the park.
