Back again to defend its title as the best freestyle, all-mountain snowboard in the land, the CAPiTA Defenders of Awesome Snowboard is the obvious choice for any rider seeking a durable, fun and versatile board. Sure, the Defenders of Awesome might be recognized for its not-so-mom-approved graphic, but it features Capita's coveted Hybrid Flat Kick Technology, sorry mom! Hybrid FK grants you the pop, response, and board control of camber, plus the stability and versatility of a flat surface underfoot. The DOA is crafted from sustainable wood and has a snappy flex that makes for damp landings and immediate edge-to-edge transitions, without hindering the board's ability to jib. There's no wonder why CAPiTA's Defenders of Awesome Snowboard has won the Transworld Good Wood test three years running - it is just that AWESOME!
Rocker Type
Mountain Flatkick V2 - Subtle positive camber between the bindings intersects a flat section before turning into reverse camber. Both the tip and tail have a section of reverse camber (rocker) at the contact points. The result is tons of pop and stability on hardpack, easy float and landing power, improving rider performance in deep snow.
Flex Rating: 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - This mildly stiff flexing snowboard offers a responsive, fun and agile freestyle-oriented ride you can take anywhere.
True Twin - Ride switch, regular, or upside down, this board won't care; completely symmetrical from tip to tail.
Blended Radial Sidecut - The sidecuts feature a single radius arc through the midsection of the board combined with a custom designed blend zone at the contact points. Varying the length of these blend zones and tailoring them specifically for certain aspects of riding greatly improves the board's performance.
RFC Sustainable Dual Core™ - Capita's DS Select RFC eco wood core is extremely lightweight, promoting a smooth and even flex to create a powerful, poppy ride. Beechwood is placed along the rails, enabling the rider to hold a solid edge when carving, eliminating chatter at high speeds and concentrating the rider input energy for more powerful ollies. Poplar wood strips increase strength and absorb vibrations.
Special Blend EVO | 2 x 30 mm Carbon Fiber Beams - This laminate does not contain the harsh chemicals commonly used during the snowboard laminating process. Instead, Capita's eco-friendly fiberglass configuration is comprised of a polyurethane based resin component which consumes less energy yet produces a product containing higher technical properties. Dual carbon beams that run parallel to the edges create a deck that is strong, durable, and lightweight with increased power and response.
Full ABS Silkscreened Fortress™ Kevlar Bound Sidewalls - A highly durable and lightweight sidewall technology that binds the sidewall and core material together to create an insanely long lasting, strong deck.
Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base + Titanal Base Inlay - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high-speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast and durable.
Die-cut Base | Multitech™ Silkscreen - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
360˚ Steel Edges
Level 5 DeepSpace™ Silkscreen + PLT Topsheet Technology - The environmentally-conscious PLT technology reduces the need for harmful chemicals while creating a high-quality and glossy metallic topsheet. Paired with DeepSpace™ advanced ink bonding and curing technologies for a killer graphic.
Sublimation Base - A graphic technology where the ink is pushed through a substrate into base material using pressure and heat. This creates a very vibrant graphic.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Flat/Camber/Flat
This profile is very similar to full camber, except that it has a mellower flat area from the bindings out. This will make it more forgiving and easier to do some tricks in the park.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
  • Core/Laminates: Carbon, Wood
