It's time to keep it real in the snowboard world. You don't need energy drink sponsors, triple corks, or personal cameras filming your every move. The CAPiTA Defenders of Awesome Snowboard is all about good times with the homies, boosting methods, and the almighty apres-shred. The Defender of Awesome a.k.a. DOA features CAPiTA's Hybrid FK camber profile. In short, camber to flat to a tiny bit of rocker at the contact points, this profile allows for the power and pop of camber while remaining predictable and easy to press in the nose and tail. Plus the 30mm Carbon fiber beams give enough pop to clear the highest of slow signs. The CAPiTA Defenders of Awesome Snowboard keeps it real all over the mountain. Sorry about the graphics mom.
Rocker Type
Hybrid FK - CAPiTA's Hybrid Camber boards take full advantage of the benefits of traditional camber, zero camber, and reverse camber. This next generation design allows you to get the pop and response of a cambered board with all the predictability and easy turn initiation of zero camber or reverse camber shapes.

Flat Kick Technology - With Flat Kick design technology CAPiTA has tightened the profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height. This is a key area that influences the tempo and feel of turn initiation. With traditional larger tip and tail arcs, the loaded camber contributes to a board's acceleration into a turn. On reverse camber boards the contact points are elevated, removing this camber contribution. As a result, the same traditional tip and tail radii would make the board feel sluggish. Specialized Flat Kick tip and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions.
Flex
5.5 Flex Rating - Buttery smooth perfection for all-mountain shred
Shape
True Twin - Ride switch, regular, or upside down, this board won't care; completely symmetrical from tip to tail.
Blended Radial Sidecut - Blended Radial sidecuts feature a single radius arc through the midsection of the board combined with a custom designed blend zone at the contact points. Varying the length of these blend zones and tailoring them specifically for certain aspects of riding greatly improves the board's performance.
Core
RFC Sustainable Core - The RFC SUSTAINABLE Core is the original eco-friendly core. It's proven track record offers an environmentally conscious consumer a sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected. These cores have been re-forestation certified by a leading environmental agency for nature and habitat sustainability, and made with a single species poplar grain for a smooth, consistent ride. Extending from edge to edge and tip to tail the wood grain has no knots or finger joints enhancing response and providing a complete uniform flex pattern.
Laminates
Special Blend Evo Tech - An Eco Friendly wet lay-up process that uses a polyurethane based resin component requiring lower consumption of energy and yielding higher technical properties. This adhesion process improves the factory's working environment, as it does not contain some of the same harsh chemical characteristics used in resins at other factories. This configuration uses an optimum blend of biaxial glass laminated in conjunction with structural additives to customize performance objectives.

Base
Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and are consistently the dominant first choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Flat/Camber/Flat
    Flat/Camber/Flat
This profile is very similar to full camber, except that it has a mellower flat area from the bindings out. This will make it more forgiving and easier to do some tricks in the park.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
