You know, Chuck Slice used to be a hard monster, striking fear in the hearts of groomer craving skiers. Today, Charlie Slasher switched up his style for hippy pow and a hearty serving of granola. While the CAPiTA Charlie Slasher may have gotten a wood grain makeover, his guts still run pure. With a rockered nose and a flat base through a 20 mm tapered tail, Slasher's tail sinks into pow while the nose floats effortlessly through the deepest of snow - no longer are you beat by noon. Looks may change, but the CAPiTA Charlie Slasher will always be your friend on a powder day.
Rocker Type
Pow FK - Mono reverse camber FK for powder allows your nose to float above the snowline, while retaining power throughout the tail to stomp landings and slash the hell out of everything.

Flat Kick Technology - With Flat Kick design technology CAPiTA has tightened the profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height. This is a key area that influences the tempo and feel of turn initiation. With traditional larger tip and tail arcs, the loaded camber contributes to a board's acceleration into a turn. On reverse camber boards the contact points are elevated, removing this camber contribution. As a result, the same traditional tip and tail radii would make the board feel sluggish. Specialized Flat Kick tip and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions.
Flex
6 Flex Rating - Stiff enough to float through the pow and engage tough turns, but soft enough to be playful when you need it.
Shape
Tapered Tail - 20 mm of taper in the tail sinks the tail in deep snow and allows the nose to float. It's proven to reduce tomahawks by 38%.
Radical Taper - Engineered specifically for deep powder riding, this radial sidecut is complemented by a tapered tail. This narrower tail section naturally sinks in the powder while the wider nose section floats above the snow line. The result is less work and more fun as the board surfs on one smooth continual arc.

Core
RFC Sustainable Touring Core - The all new RFC Sustainable Touring Core takes the DNA of a Charlie Slasher and adds a doublewide ABS sidewall down the centerline. This allows you the versatility to keep your Charlie intact as a powder machine, or to split it down the middle into a touring set without risking water damage to the core.
Laminates
Custom Weave - The CUSTOM WEAVE configuration features a resin/glass application borrowed from the marine industry, which yields much stronger and rigid qualities allowing the board to have decreased wood core thickness. The main focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. The biaxial/triaxial fiberglass combination creates more response while increasing strength and durability.

Base
Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and are consistently the dominant first choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freeride, Powder
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat
  • Shape: Directional
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
