Burton Sherlock Wide Snowboard 2013

With your incredible powers of deduction, my friend, you should have concluded by now that the Burton Sherlock Wide Snowboard is the ideal vehicle for all mountain slashing in any type of snow, not to mention its Flying V profile offering a brilliant combination of carving ability and precision. Factor in the Super Fly II™ core, Triax fiberglass weave, sintered base and 10:45™ edges and the decision becomes, well, elementary!
Rocker Type
Flying V™ - A blend of Camber and Rocker, for the best of both worlds: rocker overall, including between and outside your feet, enhances playfulness and float. Underneath your feet, subtle camber zones focus edge-control for added pop and power through turns.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 5, A medium flex for easy turning and forgiving freestyle moves
Infinite Ride™ - This Burton-exclusive technology allows for maximized pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

Shape
Wide - Select boards offer versions of their signature rides in wider platforms that are redesigned from the ground up for the larger-footed rider.
Side Effects - Lengthening the surface area at the tip and tail contact points improves edge-hold and allows the board to plane easier in powder. Enjoy a livelier feel and enhanced grip on groomers along with added float for overhead days.
Pro-Tip™ - A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
Sidecut
Twin-Like - Whether riding regular or switch, get the freestyle feel of a twin shape with improved float and control through variable terrain and conditions.
Core
Super Fly II™ Core - Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight - further optimized for float in Burton's freeride focused boards, and strength in their park boards.
Dual Zone™ EGD™ - Engineered Grain Direction manipulates the angles and direction of wood grains in the core for superior edge-hold, response, and durability.
Squeezebox - This improves performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from where it originates beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board more stable and easily manipulated.

Laminates
Triax™ Fiberglass - Versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred
Carbon I-Beam - This ultra-light carbon backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap.
Sidewalls
10:45™ Sidewalls - 10:45’s extra-meaty, dual angle geometry results in better impact absorption and durability.
Base
Sintered - Fast and durable base that holds wax well, 20% recycled content
Diecut Base Color - Combinations may vary
Edges
Frostbite Edges - Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edgehold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining forgiving in softer conditions.
Topsheet
20-30% Recycled Content
Graphics
Eliminated printing chemicals - uses more eco-friendly inks then traditional printing methods
Additional Features
Smooth Ride - Internal dampening lets you ride faster through rough terrain with more control and less impact on your body.
Binding Compatibility
The Channel - Gives you the ability to micro adjust your stance and is compatible with Burton EST™, Re:Flex™ and Disc bindings, as well as bindings from Forum, Drake, Union, Flow, Flux, Ride, and K2 with adapter

Comments about Burton Sherlock Wide Snowboard 2013:

I tested the Sherlock against the Custom Flying V and Process Camber...what a world of difference. The Sherlock has amazing pop and gives you an extremely smooth ride. It floats nicely on the powder and cuts into harder conditions very well too. Very versatile. Compared to only riding camber boards, I was blown away by how playful and forgiving the flying v is. Unfortunately I got a chip on the tail my first day riding. Apparently I was just unlucky as that is supposed to be the strongest part of the board. Other than that, I highly recommend this board.
