Burton Hero Wide Snowboard 2012: A playful hero from its inception, the Burton Hero Wide Snowboard has been built up alongside the legendary V-Rocker™ and continues to be a solid board. The Hero Wide is built with a super soft flex, Jumper Cables that provide great pop and don’t sacrifice playfulness, and more stability thanks to Squeezebox tech. Although you’ll feel the forgiveness and fun in the Burton hero it has the added control and edge hold thanks to critical Frostbite Edges.
Flex
Flex rating: 3 (1 soft -10 stiff)
Medium-soft flex means the Burton Hero has a great amount of flex for a forgiving ride.
Twin flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile regular or switch, frontside or backside.
Construction and Core
Super Fly® Core with Dualzone™ EGD™ ™ is lightened up and loaded with pop. The vertical sandwich of hard and soft woods saves weight and improves snap and response; optimal for strength.
Infinite Ride™ assure the board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from day one and for years to come.
Triax™ Fiberglass with Carbon I-Beam™ allows for a versatile flex and response for all types of shredders.
Squeezebox ramps up the core profile on the edges of bindings for better edge control.
The M6 Channel focuses power through a central connection that acts as a backbone for the board’s internal tech and allows you to micro-adjust your stance width and angles with all binding formats.
Jumper Cables Hi-Voltage are ultra-light carbonated rods that radiate energy outward from your feet towards the top and tail resulting in ultra-electrified pop and more snap when powering through turns without sacrificing the board’s overall playful feel.
Shape
V Rocker™ is a continuous rocker between your feet and in front of your feet towards the tip and tail creating a catch-free playfulness and improved float from peak to park.
Twin-Like Shape features the freestyle feel of a twin shape with improved float and control through variable terrain and conditions.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Sintered Base is durable and highly porous with added durability and superior wax absorption.
10:45™ Sidewalls have extra-meaty, dual angle geometry that results in bomb impact absorption.
Pro-Tip™ tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
Frostbite Edges beneath bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions balancing out the board’s overall loose and forgiving feel.
Ellip Nose Kick promotes pop while providing added float and clearance.

Comments about Burton Hero Wide Snowboard 2012:

I recently got this board for next season. I haven't ridden it yet (WHICH SUCKS) because I'm dying to. But I already love this board, I strap it on everyday haha and I have literally been buttering in my bedroom lol but this is the most flexible board I have ever strapped into. So easy to flex torsionally and pop, very light, the channel is a must for me since im around 20 lbs overweight for my height, I prefer a longer board with a shorter stance so I stick with burton. I also have the 2012 custom flying v which I thought was easy to flex torsionally (especially compared to the rentals i used before buying my boards, some of them felt as though they chopped down a tree and handed it to me.) until i stepped into this and it's like riding with cheat codes. I also rode the 2012 shaun white standard once, but I'm 6'0 185-190 and I was on a 55 or 56.. so my judgement of that board is clouded, I did have a lot of fun on it, but it was slipping out from under me alot and I was all over the ground. Next season I'll come back with a follow up (if i remember) and let you guys know how it actually rides, but I'm sure it will be tons of fun.

It came with a ding in it already, it's not too bad, but I got it at a discounted price so I had to buy it, but that may be a sign that it dings easily.. we'll seeeee
