It's not the size of the ship; it's the motion in the ocean. The Burton Family Tree Spliff Splitboard takes a different approach to snowboard shaping. Featuring Burton's RADuction technology, the Spliff is meant to be ridden 10cm shorter than a traditional snowboard because of its exaggerated contact points, wider waist width, thicker core profiling, and stiffer flex. The S-Rocker profile gives the board plenty of float in deeper snow and plenty of support with a cambered tail. New for 2015, Burton added the Split Channel to the Spliff, which allows for fine tuning of your stance. Whether you are exploring the side-country of your local resort, or searching for far out pow lines, the Burton Family Tree Spliff Splitboard is ready for the adventure.
Rocker Type
S-Rocker™ - Burton's S-Rocker™ blend has more rocker towards the nose and subtly transitions into a cambered tail. By having more lift in the nose, you get improved flotation while maintaining speed through deep powder turns and ample stability in variable conditions.

Flex
Directional Flex - Burton's directional flex snowboards feature increased pop coming from the tail. The nose is less flexible, this allows you to easily maintain control and keep your tip up in pow.
Infinite Ride™ - Burton's Infinite Ride™ is designed to maximize the pop and strength of your snowboard. During the manufacturing process, the board is broken in and reconfigured to ensure that your board will maintain flex, pop and ride the same from the first day to the 100th.

Shape
Directional - Directional is the original snowboard shape. It is designed with a slightly longer nose, to concentrate the pop in the tail. This board will give you plenty of floatation, fluidity, and control to rip.
Taper: 5 mm - An exclusive Burton mounting system using a central spine for virtually endless binding adjustability. It's equipped with industry standard M6 hardware for enhanced connection to the board and further compatibility with all Burton bindings along with many others. The Channel M6 allows you to micro-adjust stance width, angle, and toe-to-heel centering with ease while at the same time dispersing energy for added rebound and snap.
Pro-Tip™ - A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
Side Effects™ - This patented design lengthens the surface area at the tip and tail contact points to improve edge-hold and allow the board to plane easier in pow. Enjoy a livelier feel and enhanced grip on groomers along with added float for overhead days.
Core
FSC™ Certified Super Fly II™ - Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduce weight. Further optimized for float in Burton's freeride focused boards, and strength in Burton's park-focused boards.
Dualzone™ EGD™ - The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength.
Squeezebox - Burton's Squeezebox improves your boards performance by balancing thicker more powerful core sections in with thinner more flexible sections. In translation, Squeezebox enhances your connectivity to your snowboard which will create an amazingly stable, responsive and predictable ride.

Laminates
Triax™ Fiberglass - Triax™ Fiberglass promotes asymmetrical flex with lengthwise stiffness in the snowboard. Meaning, your snowboard has tons of pop and responsiveness.
Base
Sintered Base - Sintered bases are super-fast. Polyethylene pellets are forced together under extremely high pressure. The result is a singular piece of connected pellets with tiny pores across the entire base. Sintered bases absorb hot wax really well.
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
Topsheet
GMP Mountain Dew™ Recycled PET Topsheet
Additional Features
Nug Raduction™ - Nug Raduction™ aims to optimize every element of your snowboard. From the waist width, flex, sidecut, and running length. This feature allows you downsize (at most) 10 cm from your normal board length (based on weight and height). In translation, you will have a lightweight, lively, maneuverable, floaty, poppy, and stable snowboard to ride at any speed.
Binding Compatibility
Split Channel - Go ahead and get picky with your splitboarding stance, and continue to fine-tune it as the season unfolds. With the Split Channel, you get the strongest, fastest, easiest, and most adjustable mounting system ever offered on a splitboard. The days of compromise are officially over. ALL BURTON SPLITBOARDS WITH THE SPLIT CHANNEL COME WITH PUCKS PRE-MOUNTED FOR EASY SETUP!

Specs

  • Terrain: Splitboarding
    Splitboarding
A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
This features rocker in the nose and a camber extending under the feet through the tail. It is Built for riders that demand superior grip, stability, and responsive performance, but who still want to be able to float in powder.
  • Shape: Directional
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
