If you've got the APO Empire Snowboard in your quiver, it has the final say in what board you're using on any given day. If there's more than 5 inches to be sought after, the decision's been made. Fresh snow can't be wasted when you have a fully directional pow-muncher with a PP2 Dual Core and Basalt and Carbon support. It comes in the Hybrid W shape, which has rocker boosting you to the top of the pow while having slight camber keeping your carves on fleek. Complete with a Sintered 8000 Base and stone grind finish, you'll be painting the trees with your pow-slashes. There's no other board for a day of freshies when you've got the APO Empire Snowboard.

Rocker Type
Hybrid W – Pop and control plus forgiveness. The best of both worlds, the board has a camber between the feet, and symmetrical rocker in the tip and the tail. Camber makes the board more efficient on the slope, more snappy in the park and the rocker allows better floatability in powder snow.
Flex
Double Flex – Maneuverable and nimble // The wood core has a slight dip in thickness between the inserts to make the board more maneuverable without losing its flex and energy.
Shape
Freeride – For big mountain riding 100% Directional: A longer progressive tip, significant insert setback, pintail (wider tip than tail), soft tail, and a longer side cut radius make freeride boards more stable and efficient on and off the slope.
Core
PP2 Dual Core – Lightweight and precise The PP2 Dual core was designed to reduce the weight as much as possible and increase performance levels as much as possible. The blend of poplar and paulownia makes the boards ultra responsive and precise for ultimate versatility.
Laminates
2D Basalt Fiberglass – Dynamism and lightness. A mixture of APO's traditional 2D fiberglass and basalt strips (added underneath the core), blending the control and response provided by the fiberglass with the lightness and durability of basalt.
V Carbon – Comfort on the edge. V-shaped carbon strips place on the tip and the tail of the board improve the rider’s feel on the edge by limiting board torsion during turns.
Sidewalls
Slanted Sidewalls – The sidewalls are slanted, made of ABS and are silk-screen printed.
Base
Sintered 8000 – The formula 1. The best base you can get, it’s the formula 1 of gliding on snow.
Stone Grind – Increased speed in spring snow // Stone-ground bases glide much better on wet snow thanks to the structure that enables water drops to escape more efficiently from under your board.
Die-Cut Base – Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.

Powder Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.

Stiff The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
