The go-to jib binding for riders like Scott Stevens, the Union Contact Snowboard Bindings get a makeover for the 2014/2015 season. The new Asym S2 Highback takes Union's multizone philosophy and tweaks it towards the outside for more lateral support and control, while getting wild in the park. The True Flex Contact Base promotes a free and even board flex for sweeter response, better board control, and improved board durability. The new Contact is ready to hit the park or the streets in style.
Baseplate
Contact Base - This base is made of Dupont™ Zytel® ST and is guaranteed against breakage with a lifetime warranty.
Injected Dual Zone EVA Bushings - Two separate zones provide dampening underfoot to promote a more comfortable ride and a smooth, even board flex with no dead sports. Each size comes with its own durometer for custom performance.
3D Heelcups - Extruded aluminum comes out 100% pure and maintains it's true shape no matter how much wear and tear you inflict upon it - Strongest in the business.
3-Position Heelcup Adjustment
Straps
3D Direct Connect Strap System - Multi-layer strap core evenly distributes pressure across the top of the foot.
Direct-Connect™ Tool Free Adjustment - No screwdrivers needed - Flip the lever for quick and easy on hill adjustment.
Buckles
Injected Aluminum Buckles - Fast in, and fast out. Union aluminum is second-to-none.
Highback
Asym S2 Highback - New for 2014/2015, Union took their Multizone philosophy and tweaked it towards the outside for boosted lateral support and control when pressing, buttering and spinning off jumps.
Additional Features
All New 4x4-Channel Disk - Compatible with 2x4, 4x4, and Channel mounting systems.
Grade 8.8 Hardware - The most commonly used hardware is made from "mild steel" that has a property class of only 4.6. Considering how much stress a binding is under, Union uses only the strongest steel on ALL hardware.

Specs

  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Flex Rating: Soft
    Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
  • Binding Style: Strap
