Specs

  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Comments about Salomon Hologram Snowboard Bindings 2013:

I like these bindings a lot but there are some things that could be improved. First off, the kevlar heelcup is awesome. The bindings are super comfortable and surprisingly repsonive for such a soft binding. I highly recomend these for all-mountain freestyle riding. I'm happy with these in the park and on groomers. They are even nice when you need to lean back in the powder. My only complaint was the quality of the construction. I find that I often need to retighten the buckles as they come loose a couple of clicks while riding. I also found that the markers on the disks are not aligned properly which is annoying when you goto set your angles. For example, on one binding the marker is right inbetween the 9 & 12 degree indications on both sides of the disk. On the other binding one side is at 9 degrees while the other side indicates 12. Not a dealbreaker but kindof annoying. Overall, I like the performance of the bindings so much I am more than willing to deal with the little knocks in construction quality.

Comments about Salomon Hologram Snowboard Bindings 2013:

Im mainly a freeride guy and these bindings seem more geared to freestyle, they are very soft and flexible for tweaking out your tricks with ease. The shadow fit really lives up to its name as you can hardly tell you are strapped in---which is great for the park and freestyle of all sorts but not the best when your bombing over 50mph trying to find your line. HIGHYLY reccomended for freestyle esp, if your a tweaker.

Comments about Salomon Hologram Snowboard Bindings 2013:

The highback feels too flexible, maybe its just me but it seems like it would be easy to snap with enough torsional force. The binding is very park friendly though and lets you screw around a lot!

Comments about Salomon Hologram Snowboard Bindings 2013:

        Very light and comfortable.
Rode these on hardpack and ice. They're surprisingly responsive for how soft they seem out of the box. Softness is actually only lateral, which allows for great ankle mobility. Presses, jibs and tweAks are made a bit easier, whereas frontside and backside movements are super responsive, and edgehold feels good.

Only regret is the toe strap which is now detachable unlike former Relay model. You do have to put the strap and the ratchet togetjer like 99% of the other binding, whereas the previous model saved a few seconds.
        Obviously that doesn't affect performance.

        Good Binder

Comments about Salomon Hologram Snowboard Bindings 2013:

If you prefer a softer more forgiving binding, the Holograms are the binder. These are comfortable and as soft as they are, they still put out a good response. Wasn't too sure about the soft heelcup but I enjoyed it. Great all round binder for park and freeride.
