Product Details

Flex

Medium FlexThe Madison Boss has the perfect combination of playfulness and power. This medium flex gives you the power you need for freeriding and the flexibility you want for freestyle.

Baseplate

V-Rod BaseplateA V-shaped baseplate with a "rod" of edge-to-edge contact limits the binding's footprint on the board, which delivers three things: natural board flex, greater binding flexibility side-to-side, and full power from toe to heel. You get the perfect blend of flex with pop.

SubBase V-PadPartnered with the V-Rod baseplate, the 3D profile of the EVA and rubber sub-base pad fills the lifted corners of the baseplate, creating cushioning for the smoothest side-to-side flex while allowing for a dampening barrier between the baseplate and topsheet.

Straps

Contour Boss Ankle StrapRome has designed the Contour Boss Ankle Strap with new materials to conform over the ankle with double the cushion for support and comfort that is unmatched by any other, and solidifies its versatility in flex for all types of shred.

ConformGrip Toe StrapOvermolded TPR grips the toe of your boot for comfort and control, while conforming seamlessly to all models on the market.

Auto StrapRome's signature idea using an elastic band to hold the ankle straps out of the footbed until you are ready to strap in.

Highback

Forward Lean AdjustmentForward Lean Adjustment consists of an adjustment mechanism located on the back of the highback for customized forward lean.

Madison HighbackRome designed this binding with an asymmetric highback with a thinner profile for added flex and pop. A shorter highback allows for a more accurate fit around the calf and is cored out to be light weight.

Comments about Rome Madison Boss Snowboard Bindings - Women's 2014:

Great bindings, very stable in rough conditions and in all types of terrain. Also very responsive so a little less forgiving but a perfect trade off. They are a little heavier than I am used to but overall I would curtainly recommend these to any female rider looking to improve and get more aggressive.

Comments about Rome Madison Boss Snowboard Bindings - Women's 2014:

I really like these bindings! I can't actually think of anything bad about them, other than that they are expensive.
- Very comfortable. The toe and ankle straps really hug your boots and you can barely feel them there (in a good way!). No pinching or pressure points at all. The ankle strap is fairly narrow and that really allows you to bend your ankles if you are wearing softer boots. The toe strap is really grippy and stays in place. The footbeds are thick and padding is good. My boots don't have strong impact protection, so this is important for me.
- They do up fast. It takes no time at all to strap in. I've had people I've ride with ask if they were Flows. Nope, just awesome bindings!
- Configurable. I love how you can set them up in so many ways, although it would be nice to get footbeds for 2 degrees in addition to the 0 and 3.5 degrees footbeds. Yes, it does take time to set them up, but I find this to be more fun, than a chore… Plus once you get them setup how you like, you don't need to change it.
- They are a bit heavy, but this doesn't bother me at all
- The construction seems sturdy and durable, however the zippers on the highbacks are coming off. They are a fun and, unique design and not functional at all, but I want to try to glue them back into place…
- I keep these bindings primarily on my park setup and I love them. I ride with a Bataleon Distortia and ThirtyTwo 86FT Fast Track boots and the setup is perfect for park. I have tried the bindings on my stiffer mountain board (a Salomon Ivy with Burton Emerald boots) and they handle really well too. I think the highbacks are a bit too soft for mountain if you really want solid response, but they still handle really well.
- They feel good with softer or stiffer boots
- From a riding point of view, I like the footbed canting the most on these. For a park setup, where your stance is wide, it makes a HUGE difference. My knees feel so much better after a day of riding. You can't feel a huge difference from just standing on them briefly – you appreciate it more, the longer you ride them I think. I notice that my legs don't tire as easily and if you still ride a pair with no canting (like I do for my mountain setup, Ride Ex's) you really can feel the difference when you switch it up.
- One thing to think about though if you usually ride a narrower stance and are using the canted footbeds, is that you may want to widen your stance so that you don't 'over cant' your knees. It feels a bit cramped if this is the case, so make sure your board stance options can go a bit wider (a comment more for mountain boards than park boards)
- From a convenience point of view, the device Rome has to keep the ankle strap out of the way is genius! It's one of those things that you don't appreciate or really think about until it's no longer a there
- If you want to use one pair of bindings for multiple boards, then these bindings are a bit slow to change since you need to remove the footbeds first. This is also necessary to tighten screws if they become loose. I haven't had a problem with loose screws yet
