Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2013

One of the most popular bindings in the Rome line up, the Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings are even Rick Ross’ go to snowboard binding 'cause baby, he’s the Boss. You get awesome edge to edge power with the V-Rod baseplate and canting customization for even more precise response. Adjust the forward lean to perfectly match your stance, and you’ll be the boss of your hill in no time.
Flex
The Boss has the perfect combination of playfulness and power. This medium flex gives you the power you need for freeriding and the flexibility you want for freestyle.
Baseplate
V-Rod Baseplate - A V-shaped baseplate with a "rod" of edge-to-edge contact limits the binding's footprint on the board, which delivers three things: natural board flex, greater binding flexibility side-to-side, and full power from to toe to heel. You get the perfect blend of flex with pop.
SubBase V-Pad - Partnered with the V-Rod baseplate, the 3D profile of the EVA and rubber sub-base pad fills the lifted corners of the baseplate for the smoothest side-to-side flex.
Straps
Contour Ankle Strap - The support and comfort is unmatched by any other and solidifies its versatility in flex for all types of shred. New temperature-resistant materials enhance the fit and comfort.
ConformGrip Toe Strap - Overmolded TPU grips the toe of your boot while conforming seamlessly to all models on the market.
Autostrap - Keep your straps out of your foot bed in an easily accessible position that bounces back to strap down quickly and efficiently.
Highback
390 Asym Highback - Ergonomically designed for seamless response, the 390 is slightly canted to the inside, designed to flex your board and boot. Perfect for both open-to-close park days or long backcountry trips
Additional Features
Yes, I Cant System - Canting gives you more comfortable wide stances for more power over your nose and tail. Go with 2 degrees or 3.5 degrees of canting, or run 0 degrees if you want to go traditional.
UnderWrap.2 Heel Hoop - Cored out along the sides with a solid heel for a lighter binding
Rome Customization Foundation - Highback rotation, 9 Times Ankle Strap Position, Adjustable Toe and Heel Ramp, Forward Lean
Rome QuickTech Foundation - AutoStrap.2 Technology, QuickStrap.2 Technology, QuickLock Forward Lean

These are absolutely the best bindings I have ever used. I wasn't sure about the canted footbed, but combined with the asymmetrical high back, they really are easier on your knees. I use the 2 degree pads and they make a huge difference. The ankle and toe straps have no pressure points, even from day one. I'm coming at these from Unions, which I really like, but the Rome's are just better. Very responsive but flexible at the same time. Sizing seems accurate. The toe area is a bit narrower than my Union Forces but almost identical to the Union Contacts. I wear Thirty Two Lashed sz 9.5 and the L/XL size fits well. I did Dremmel the boots' sole a bit to fit the front of the boots better, but this seems common with the Lashed boots.

I bought this after having heard very good things about it. It's not very stiff at all and the responsiveness is horrible. In order for some decent responsiveness I had to tighten it to an extreme where my feet were very uncomfortable and blood circulation to my feet were restricted.

The design of the lever is also not very reliable either. Ice formed inside where the lever binds onto the strap and so my binding wouldn't hold. I had to spend awhile figuring out why my strap wouldn't hold.

Also a few times I would notice that the strap had automatically loosened itself halfway down the mountain...Not very reliable or safe...

I wish I had bought another binding. For something so expensive I'm extremely disappointed!

Comments about Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2013:

I've only done downhill skiing up until now so I was a complete newbie. But the bindings are super easy to get into and get out of, they give great control for slide or carve, and made me comfortable and confident enough to go down a black diamond slope my first day out (yeah, not pretty but I'll get there)!

Super awesome bindings, very comfortable. No pressure points, and the cant bed is great. I use the 3.5 degre foot bed. pretty heavy however. I like them much more than the Union Contact Pros I rode at the beginning of the year

Great bindings. The canted footbeds saved me knees from the torture I regularly give them on the mountain. Just the right amount of stiffness on the highbacks.

A tad on the heavy side but oh sooooo good!

Comments about Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2013:

The canting helps keep your legs in a more comfortable position. There is a plastic strap which attaches to the strap to pull it out of the way so it is easier to get our boot in. I have not used it long enough to see if it chips easily as stated in earlier models, but it has done fine so far.

These bindings are super adjustable, I ride with a +15 -15 stance and the highbacks can be rotated to parallel with the heel edge. Love the canted footbeds. Bottom of binding has rubber, wont scuff your board like my old ones did. Auto strap is a good idea, but actually gets in the way of the stomp pad. I close the ankle strap before riding the lift. It is removable so no biggie.

The moment I strapped into these bindings I knew something magical had happened. After my old bindings began to give out I hit the market in hopes to find something that would fit my all mountain riding. These totally fit the bill. They have a ton of adjustments possible (canting, toe strap, heel strap etc.) that really make them feel like they were made for you. They take a bit of time to set up but you'll realize it's worth it when you take them out the first time.

                    Good construction.

No more peeling paint (a cosmetic problem from earlier models).

Toe strap is perfect. Can use both configurations. Earlier Boss models had good toe straps but apparently some people had complaints -- the 2013 model fixed those.

So any minor grievances people had of earlier models have been fixed. Now the binding is perfect.

Lots of customization options, but nothing complicated. Heelback angle can be adjusted without a tool, which is good for when you're on the mountain and ready to switch from park to freeride.

Canting system felt subtle at first but by the end of the day my knees were much less worn out. It makes a difference. Like most people I use the 2.0 cant angle. This is the reason I went Rome Boss instead of Union. Union bindings don't offer canting. I'm glad I went for Rome.

The adjustability is awesome and you can conform it perfectly to what feels best for you. I love rome products and had never tried these bindings before I bought them but I couldn't be happier with them. They have helped me raise my level of riding by how much more comfortable I feel on the board. They take a bit to setup and going down The mountain a few times tweaking them but once their dialed in to what you like they are awesome.
