Product Info

A brand new company with a revolutionary idea! NOW was founded by snowboarder JF Pelchat who began building his own bindings as early as 1992. His revolutionary NOW IPO Snowboard Bindings combine skateboard truck technology with snowboarding. Constructed without a traditional baseplate, these bindings offer a fulcrum-style "baseplate" that moves with your foot to easily transfer power to your board. Four bushings added under the "baseplate" allow for only four points of contact with the board. This makes it so power can be easily transferred and the board is able to bend naturally, so you get a true ride. Join the revolution and pick up the NOW IPO Snowboard Bindings before they're gone!

Product Details

Baseplate

KingpinHollow rivet assembly links the Hanger to the Alumi-ring which creates a fulcrum for all energy transfer. Hollow stainless steel rivet is extremely light and strong.

HangerI-beam wall sections are both rigid and light which transfers energy to the board's edges. The baseless design allows for uninterrupted board flex.

Alumi-ringStamped 4 mm 6061 T6 aluminum creates a rigid board fixture compatible with all interfaces.

Highback

FlushcupsStacked highback/heelcup assembly creates a flush, inner surface. This design holds your boot, with or without the highback. In NoBack mode, mounting washers replace highback in strap cavity.

Asym HighbacksPre-rotated 5˚ laterally // Higher medial side that follows the leg angle. // Wider lateral side provides support.

Flex HingesProgressive flex to lock-out, which dampens chatter and eliminates calf-bite, follows any boot contour/shape.

Additional Features

FootpillowsBaseless Hanger design allows for a full 15 mm of EVA underfoot. Kaytooeva under hell for increased shock absorption and easy tool-free access to mounting disc/hardware

BushingsDual injection, quick-snap connection to Hanger // Applies energy while diffusing board chatter // Available in 3 durometers (hardness levels)

Comments about Now IPO Snowboard Bindings 2013:

The IPO's feel great - from your first turn to your last. I put these on a 2012 Lib TRice 157 and they felt totally different than any other binding I've ever ridden. They dampened the ride, but did not give up any response / control. I believe they also combat foot fatigue because of the dampening. I used the 'softest' (white) bushing.

I thought that the low highbacks would be concerning, but that wasn't the case at all. These things railed from edge to edge & held any bead I wanted - even the full tilt where you turn and go back up hill - they did it all. I never even thought about the highback.

Concerns are mostly around the ratchets and the toe strap. the toe cap works, but it's not that boot melded fit that we've come to expect (a la Burton bindings). Don't get me wrong, it works, but you'll notice some excess room in the bottom - I think that could be refined. Also, you'll obviously want to adjust the straps for proper fit & to avoid ratchet-bottom-out. I've found that once the ratchets get pretty tight they have a hard time clicking to that last (ultra tight) tooth hold. It's not a big deal, and honestly, I rode well & loved the binding regardless, but I'd like to be able to go as tight as I want at my leisure without the bindings ratchet stopping me.

All is all - ride'em, you'll be stoked, trust me.

Comments about Now IPO Snowboard Bindings 2013:

I was excited to try the new NOW Binding. I used them with a Jones Flagship board. I also brought my other board that had Burton Custom bindings so I can compare the two. The nice thing about the NOW is that they provide a softer feel to the board and that they help provide less fatigue on the legs and toes, especially if traversing. You won't even notice the pivot system and even with this you still get a good response from binding to board. I also like the fact that with a low back you don't get calf bite.

The downside is that they may not be suitable for big footed riders , 13+ boot, even though the bindings are adjustable. They are also a little pricy for bindings but possibly because they're new in 2012. Otherwise they feel great but I think they're to new to fully evaluate their longevity and parts

Comments about Now IPO Snowboard Bindings 2013:

The bushings literally fell off my left binding already and now I am forced to use the stiff ones. Even worse, 2 fell off my first day on snow! These should come with a bottle of super glue
