Specs

  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Comments about Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings 2013:

I love these bindings! Use them on my Arbor Coda for ripping the entire mountain, from pow to park and everything in between. With the perfect blend of response and flex, you can easily go from 80mph groomers to switch rodeos and be comfortable the whole time.

This year's model can go to zero lean, which I personally don't use but it's nice to have the option. Its baseplate is shared with the Cartel, as well as a couple other key components that my tired mind has forgotten at the moment. The straps are super comfy and give me no pressure point problems, and the ratchet buckles still can't be touched by other manufacturers.

The only thing I MIGHT change, is go to a more asymmetrical ankle strap where it's wider at the buckle. While it doesn't give me any problems at all, some riders might prefer it. You could always grab ankle straps off a buddy's pair of Burtons, like the Cobra Sharks for example. The toolless strap adjustment screws are the same, making it a quick fix!

Comments about Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings 2013:

I switched to the Mission after breaking the highback on my TechNine bindings, which I bought three years ago as my first bindings. I've only ridden them two days, but they're noticeably lighter and cushier on landings. They're fairly easy to adjust to your preference. One thing I noticed is the ratchets don't tighten very tight unless you push into them. No problem after inserting once or twice and getting used to it.

Comments about Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings 2013:

First off, love the International Red.

Personally I have yet to use these bindings, but considering how these are a step up from the Burton Customs, I look forward to using them when I get a chance.
Currently I am too busy admiring how good they look, so I say the construction is pretty decent.
I just wish the FullBED cushion could come off to make mounting these bindings onto snowboards easier, but that's not a huge deal.
Overall, I highly recommending up-and-coming snowboarders to consider these bindings if they want to a step-up on their set-up.
