The revelation of last season, this knife slices and dices better than anything you've been on before at a weight that will leave you shaking your head. The Völkl V-Werks Katana Skis will simply blow you away with their versatile performance in any soft snow conditions, and they still have the guts to rail clean turns on the groomed. All this while dropping a pound or more from each leg over other skis in this class. Light enough to do dual duty as a lift served and touring ski, the V-Werks Katana is a thing of beauty that deserves a place in your life.
Full Rocker Völkl Full Rocker is a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and a symmetrical flex pattern. All the benefits of extra maneuverability in soft snow while delivering smooth, sexy arcs on groomed terrain. The matching flex and sidecut on the full rocker gives you full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge the more effective that edge becomes, and the resulting smoothness and predictability is uncanny.
3D Ridge Technology This new Völkl design is the centerpiece of their lightweight ski designs from the V-Werks to the new VTA series. It features a raised center ridge with drastically thinned ski thickness at the edges, reducing inertia around the center of the ski and enhancing agility.
Tapered Tip & Tail
Multi-Layer Wood Core Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.
Full Carbon Jacket
Carbon Short Sidewall A short, thick sidewall construction under the boot tapers toward the tip and tail of the ski, leaving an ultra thin profile.
Skin Pin Tip fittings accept Völkl glue-free Vacuum techonology climbing skins.
Pre-cut glueless climbing skins available separately.
Made in Germany
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
May Not Be Compatible with All Bindings | Marker Recommended Völkl supplies authorized dealers with a template outlining the reinforced area for binding screws. If your binding screws fall outside of this area, the strength of the mount may be compromised.

Comments about Volkl V-Werks Katana Skis 2016:
I actually have the 2015 version of this ski. Bought them from Evo as a Christmas gift to myself this past Christmas. I'm a 6'1", 185 lbs, 59 year old male who's lived in a ski town for 25 years. This is the best all around ski I've ever had or used, bar none. They are pricey and that probably explains why I have yet to see another pair out on the hill (Mammoth Mountain). I got the 191's and they are quick in the trees and bigger (longer) bumps. Skied them last Sunday in 3 feet of fresh and it was the best powder day in half a dozen years at least. More snow coming this weekend and I'll be out there trying my best to rip it up.
I've never owned a ski that got more comments in lift line and on the chair, of a positive nature, than these skis. Everyone is wowed by them and while that isn't why you buy skis (snowboards maybe) it still is cool.
