Product Info

Terrain, shmerrain. With the Shiro, you have a ski with a massive 151 mm tip width. If you can control the behemoth, it will be your best friend come powder time. If you can't . . . practice some more and try again next year! SKI Magazine's 2013 Powder Ski of the Year is an awesome blend of stability, float, playfulness and performance and works well across all terrains. But don't forget, this beast does love powder and steep terrain best.

Product Details

Rocker Type

ELP Full RockerVölkl Full rocker is a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and a symmetrical flex pattern. The Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives skiers all the benefits of extra maneuverability in soft snow while delivering smooth, sexy arcs on groomed terrain. The matching flex and sidecut on the full rocker gives you full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge the more effective that edge becomes, and the resulting smoothness and predictability is uncanny.

Core

Multi-Layer SensorwoodCreated in a complex CNC milling process, a highly sophisticated milling program enables Völkl to produce wood cores with extreme precision. It is 'extended' upwards and lengthwise, and milled to form chambers for the vertical sidewalls and torsion box. The material is a blend of poplar and beech wood, and is found in Völkl's highest performing models.

Additional Features

Power ConstructionVölkl's longest running construction, Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
