Forget about those cheesy foam core capped kid's skis, the Völkl Shiro Jr Skis are the real deal. Built with an honest Multi-Layer wood core and full sidewall Völkl Power Construction like an adult ski, the 100 mm waist on these babies will let the young and light kill it in any kind of soft snow. If your kid shuns the park and hankers to follow you outside the resort gates, get him or her the Shiro Jr and watch them rip.
ELP Full Rocker Völkl matches the sidecut and flex of the ski perfectly to give it a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail. This results in easy maneuverability in tight spaces and soft snow, but enables the skier to gain full edge contact when the ski is put on edge. Full Rocker skis have a slightly stiffer tip and softer mid-body to give you bomber stability, uncanny smoothness and easy turn initiation in one package.
Multi-Layer Wood Core Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.
Power Construction Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and a smooth ride.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
