Volkl Gotama Jr Skis - Boy's 2014

Redesigned for 2014, the Volkl Gotama Jr Skis are a wider all mountain junior ski built for variable snow conditions. With rock solid performance and bold new geometric graphics, these Goats are sure to shine.
Rocker Type
Full Rocker - Völkl Full rocker is a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and a symmetrical flex pattern. The Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives skiers all the benefits of extra maneuverability in soft snow while delivering smooth, sexy arcs on groomed terrain. The matching flex and sidecut on the full rocker gives you full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge the more effective that edge becomes, and the resulting smoothness and predictability is uncanny.

Core
Sensorwood - Created in a complex CNC milling process, a highly sophisticated milling program enables Völkl to produce wood cores with extreme precision. The Sensorwood core is made using vertically laminated poplar and beech wood.
Laminates
Power / Tough Box Construction - Volkl’s longest-running construction that utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. This construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and a smooth ride.

Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is a variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered ski and a rocker/camber/rocker ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
