Scott Scrapper Skis 2014

From hitting backcountry booters to ripping all mountain powder and crud, the Scott Scrapper Skis can do it all. With its 120 mm waist and plenty of Twin Tip Rocker, the Scrapper eats powder (or any other 3D snow) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Featuring Scott's revolutionary 3Dimension Sidecut, this allows for easy turn initiation while providing stability, power and precise edge hold. The Scott Scrapper Skis will change the way you look at - and ski - soft snow.
Rocker Type
Twin Tip Rocker - Having rocker in both the tip and tail allows for optimal float in deep snow and creates a playful "floaty" ski, while traditional camber underfoot maintains edge hold and stability.
Sidecut
3Dimension Sidecut - This revolutionary sidecut design combines a tip and tail radius with either a central flat line or small amount of sidecut underfoot. The tip and tail radii allow for easy turn initiation while the flat line (freeski) or a larger radius (all conditions) provides stability, power and precise edge hold. 3Dimension Sidecut is utilized in two different forms, a centralized flat line for the freestyle/progressive oriented skier or as a larger radius under foot for an all condition skier looking for a versatile high performing ski.
Sidecut: Tip/Underfoot/Tail - 180 - 19 m / 60 m / 17 m, 190 - 20 m / 60 m / 18 m
Core
Full Ski Length Wood Core - The full-length, wood core produces a more consistent ski flex and creates a homogeneous transition between the middle of the ski and the rockered tip and tail.
Laminates
Sandwich Sidewall Construction Laminate - SSCL combines a laminate top and bottom sheet with a traditional sandwich sidewall construction. SCOTT has optimized material usage to provide a construction that drastically reduces the weight of the ski.

Sidewalls
Traditional Vertical Sidewall
Base
High-Speed Base - Scott's High-Speed Base isa sintered ultra-high-molecular weight and high wax part race base.
Edges
Freestyle Finish - SCOTT Freestyle Finish is especially designed for a more playful freestyle ski. The main difference from the factory finish is the bigger base edge angle of 1.6 degrees. This larger angle makes the ski easier to spin and more forgiving on landings and rails.
Binding Compatibility
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Powder
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Long
    Long
    > 22 m radius is best for powder and big-mountain.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
