I am 165lbs and 6' tall with strong racing background and a big mountain charger, I've been using K2 Pontoons and the huge rocker in the back would make me spin and not get a good grip on big lines and on steeps before cliffs and horrible on the way back to the lift! Tried the rocker 2 122s last year on an powday in whistler and was hooked but it was still too much for my normal Tahoe adventures, took these to Squaw on a powday after a big storm and was amazed on the stability and flotation I got from them, the flat tail keeps the skis under you on the landings and keeps you super stable on high speeds. on the other hand on the groomers they perform very well also, I use these everyday now and leave my carvers at home. they are not for short turns and in moguls it's like having three skis to manage but they are pretty stable on high speeds and grip very well! I paired them with the guardian bindings for a little sidecountry adventure.. don't get me wrong, these are not backcountry skis! they are heavy! it's good for those 8-10 days where there are 40minute lift lines and you want to hike the sidecountry.

as for the mounting point, I talked to bunch of people who ride these and they all went with the recommended point (-3) and I think that's the best point, you have just enough ski behind you to keep you horizontal and not too much to get caught in the chutes and trees. I went with 188 as I ski straight and fast.

These skis just like the 122- super playful, turns are effortless, without the width underfoot. Still flaot really well (we were skiing 6-8" of windset pow). Awesome skis would be a great 1-ski quiver.

The title says it all. Rocker allows for quick turns. sumper damp and low profile rocker meant the ski did not flop around as much as other powder planks with more rocker. These were meant to charge.

I am 6'1" and demoed the 188's. compared to the 189 2011 Obsethed these like to go straight much more. Don't pivot quite as easily, but much damper in the nose. Overall a really fun hard charging ski. Point em' and go.

I am 6 foot and around 200lb's (depending on the day). The past week I have put these skis through the ringer. And they handled every thing with ease. My only complaint was their performance moguls. Not saying it wasnt excellent, but if you are looking for a ski that is good in moguls this aint it. What surprised me most was its ability carve a very controllable arc. As long as u are driving those shins and rolling the ankle this ski will go anywhere, at any speed.

I had the biggest grin on my face with this ski, ripping super high speed tuns through wide open pow. The 115 feels at home at high speed. If you are looking for a narrower version of the playful 122 you won't find it here. The 115 was intended to provide the high speed stability that the 122 felt short on. It's flatter tail provides confidence and although the ski is less forgiving than the 122 it definitely saved me a few times because of the solid platform. It's lower profile tip seems better at speed in powder, staying low and letting snow pass by rather than creating a plow. Both skis are great and if after skiing the 122 felt you wanted a ski you could open up more the longer turn radius of the 115 combined with its rocker profile will do just that.

Compared to the Rocker2 122 this ski does not have the same amount of rocker in the tail so it can lay down some charging turns. the 115 doesn't get as loose as the bigger tailed Rocker2 122 but you can still scrub speed. Still planky with to get you on top of the snow. It all depends on what you are looking for, the surfy playfulness of the 122 or the more straight forward hard charging 115.

I've spent this entire season on the 122mm waisted Salomon Rocker2, which I have loved as a swively, surfy powder ski. The Rocker2 115 is the perfect big mountain brother. The hybrid rocker has an elongated tip rocker with less tail rocker making it perfect for high-speed, stable descents. I found that even at high speeds I could crank this ski over or throw it sideways with minimal vibration, something you don't usually see in a ski this large. It was smooth and quiet all the way through with a stable platform for going big and stomping hard.

The Rocker2 115 is confident and responsive, at a wide range of speeds, and in all the snow conditions I skied it in (groomed, soft off trail, bumps, no ice, no pow). Rockered tip and slight rocker in the tail are balanced out by slight camber underfoot and a very versatile sidecut profile. It felt damp yet lively, a very difficult combination to achieve, and comfortable even when forcing it into shorter turns. The longer radius turn that it prefers to carve yields solid edge grip, and the rocker profile allows it to release easily from this arc, as well as plane up a bit in deeper snow, while still smoothing out the bumps of a choppy runout. Very enjoyable ski.

So much fun. Really easy to turn and stable at fast speeds. I felt more confident charging chutes than my other skis. The rocker is great also really easy to ski switch.

After not getting on a pair of Salomons for years, I'm happy to say the Rocker 2 115s is a killer ski. Quick and poppy with good edge control and stability, this ski did everything well that I put it through. From high speeds to long loopy turns on hard pack, not once did I feel they were lacking in any way. Granted I was never able to experience them in the freshies, but I can only imagine they would have done every bit as well. Solid ski for Salomon in their new 2013 line up!

I tested out these skis for a few runs. They ride well in heavier snow but felt like a tank on the groomers. They do not like to turn, but on the flip side easily handled anything in the way making big chunks of crud feel like light fluffy pillows underfoot. This ski will pretty much mow over anything. I assume Salomon is are trying to make their Rocker line more versatile by having a few width options. I think this is the ski for you if you want a big POW ski but maybe not the biggest one in the lineup. If it's me, I'm going with the biggest one that is going to handle the very best in pow. This ski will handle better on the hardpack but it's not their best weapon for the deep stuff. So, what's the point?
