On-piste stability and confidence with all-mountain possibilities makes the 2014 Salomon Q-105 Skis a powerful ski with serious performance. The Utility Rocker profile provides an aggressive directional design to explore new terrain and have more fun. Features include a Hook Free Taper for easier turn initiation in soft and variable snow, wider reinforced edges for increased durability, improved shock resistance and edge grip and a full wood core from tip to tail. A great choice for the skier who spends equal time on and off piste, the Q-105 gives you everything you need to tackle obstacles in the resort and far beyond the backcountry gates.
Utility Rocker – Salomon's most versatile rocker profile, excelling in all conditions and terrains, Utility Rocker offers optimal floatation, fluid terrain absorption and directional stability.
Gentle Rise Tail – A shorter, shallower rise to the tail rocker that increases edge contact and stability.
Carve Zone – The traditionally cambered section of twin rocker skis, where the sidecut is focused for more power, energy and edge grip.
Hook Free Taper – Allowing for easier turn initiation in soft and variable snow, this tip and tail shape slices through difficult snow without hanging up.
Full Wood Core – A wood core that runs from tip to tail offers optimum stability and powerful rebound, with maximum ski/snow contact and reduced vibration
Edgy Monocoque – Edgy Monocoque offers precise edge grip, no excess material, and efficient energy transfer from skier to snow.
Wider Edges – Thicker edges for increased durability and improved shock resistance
Total Edge Reinforcement – A fiber reinforcement is laid directly on the edges, improving edge stiffness, durability and grip.
Edge Free Extremities – No edges in the tip or tail area of the ski provide more fluid gliding in powder because edges don't "hang up", and weight is reduced.
Honeycomb + ABS Frame – Lighter at the extremities for better floatation, less inertia for easier steering and more control, and increased dampening and shock resistance
Pulse Pad – This is an elastomer layer all along the edge and/or along the whole front part of the ski that provides shock absorption and anti-vibration on harder snow.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
