Salomon Lord Skis 2012: As versatile as versatile gets, the Salomon Lord Skis are a twin-tip freeride ski for people looking to explore new terrain and develop their inner freerider. With a solid wood core and All Terrain Rocker, the Lord handles ice, crud, and soft snow without even working up a sweat.
Shape
All Terrain Rocker shape in the tip area, with a medium length and low height, enables maximum terrain absorption and easy, progressive turn initiation, without sacrificing stability. An 80% pressure zone when flat precisely transitions to a 95% pressure zone when on edge for performance and precision on all conditions.
Semi Twin Tip tail increases the snow contact and stability at high speeds.
Construction
Edgy Monocoque offers precise edge grip, no excess material, and efficient energy from the skier to the snow for freeskiing.
PULSE PAD is a layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved ski-snow contact.
Edge Armor incorporates an extremely durable polyethylene fiber cord cross-laced between the edges of the skis to increase the edge strength for less edge depression and wrenching.
Wide Edges are thicker for increased durability and improved shock resistance.
Total Edge Reinforcement has a fiber directly on the edges providing edge stiffness for improved durability and grip.
Flex
Full Woodcore from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound, which maximizes ski/snow contact and filters vibrations.
Monocoque is a single structural layer of fiber for optimal comfort, response, and maneuverability.
Dimensions
13.6m @ 161cm 128/85/113, 15.4m @ 160cm 128/86/114, 17.4m @ 177cm 128/87/115, 19.5m @ 185cm 128/88/116

Comments about Salomon Lord Skis 2012:

I used these Salomon Lord's at Steamboat in the late season (2012) after demo'ing them in Aspen in February and have to say that they performed fantastically in all types of terrain. The weather was warm mid-mountain with mashed-potato snow and the Lords busted through it with no problem. At Storm Peak, the snow was compact and intermixed with frozen hardpack from the overnight freeze, and the Lords held the edge through some iffy turns in mixed conditions. Even in The Chutes where turning space was minimal, the skis' quickness was immediately felt, and jump turns were easier to do since the skis are so light. The weight of the skis was a huge advantage, and my legs were far less tired than when I ski my Volkyls. The softer flex and dampening were similar to my Dynastars, and the mogul-bashing was quite fun instead of being exhausting and jarring my fillings loose.
