Rossignol Squad 7 Skis 2013

Slide softly and ride a big stick. With a waist of 120 mm and available only in a 190 length, the Rossignol Squad 7 Skis are the burliest of Rossignol’s S-Series offerings. These skis utilize the Powder Turn Rocker and Centered Sidecut of the original S7, but in a brawnier package that craves speed and air. If you love the way the original Rossignol S7 skis in the pow but want a little more stability at speed and during big drops, this is your ski.
Shape
Powder Turn Rocker: 50% low camber underfoot / 50% high rocker at the tip and tail - Camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for performance on groomed snow / High rocker tip delivers more floatation and effortless powder skiing / High rocker tail is pin-shaped for easier steering in powder and instant speed control
Centered Sidecut: Features a unique tapering of tip and tail with short sidecut directly underfoot / Deep radius gives edge grip and power underfoot while short length of sidecut allows easy steering and playfulness
Spoon Tip: Spoon shaped tip for maximum flotation / Tip profile is tapered for effortless tracking in deep snow
Construction
Sandwich Laminate: Wood cores with metal and/or high tech laminates provide ultimate stability, power and durability / Traditional sidewalls apply direct pressure to the edges for increases precision and edging power
Basalt/Wood Core
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Rossignol Squad 7 Skis 2013:

The Rossi Squad 7 is quite a bit different from the S7. Here's why I like it. Instead of the sort of abrupt rocker of the S7 the Squad has a smoothed out tip shape similar to the Salomon Rocker 115 which is great for floating and doesn't plow. The Squad has a forgiving flex in the tip and a much more substantial tail than the S7. Also, the turn radius is much longer than the S7 which is quite turny. The Squad 7 is much happier making medium to big turn and going straight. It's super fun.

Comments about Rossignol Squad 7 Skis 2013:

but this ski after two powder choked days left me wanting or a bit confused. The good attributes are: Turns very well and can be super quick with the the way the tip is designed on this ski. Rolls up on edge with absolutely no hesitation compared to lets say a Pettitor. Great grip. Its also able to make big round carved turns I found when screwing around on groomers too. Very fast bases or my wax was perfect :) Floats well but a bit too turny in pow for a ski with a 29.5m turn radius...weird. Felt disconnected transistioning from or trying varying turn shapes in the pow. Stability wise these are def all that although just not a fan of Rossi's core maybe. Has this kind of stiff skittery feel that is a bit too bouncy. The Pettitor in a 189 was way more damp and connected to the snow with a better kind of stability for me. Was not affraid to point the Pettitor at a pile of junk snow at speed while GS'n or super G'n while on edge. The Squad does so many things well and is a ripper for sure but just lacked that fun playful factor for me and found it rather boring. So many awesome skiers however that connect with this ski and I get that. Demo if you can.
