ON3P Cease & Desist Skis 2015

The ON3P Cease & Desist Skis are the ultimate downhill powder chargers. High speeds and waist deep snow are what these bad boys thirst for. Built with ON3P’s Reverse Elliptical Sidecut (RES), the Cease & Desist delivers incredible float and rock-solid stability at speed, yet is highly maneuverable for great performance in trees and tight spaces. Its Elliptical Rocker Profile provides one progressively changing elliptical arc, ensuring that the skis never dive and enables you to dump speed or change direction instantly. A fat waist and stiff flex makes these skis a weapon of big mountain destruction.
Rocker Type
Elliptical Rocker Profile - The rocker profile and tip shape are combined into one progressively changing elliptical arc, which allows the tips to plane faster in powder, deflect less in variable snow, and helps the effective edge running within the rocker length to engage in a more natural, effortless way.
74.5 cm tip rocker // 34.5 cm tail rocker
Sidecut
Reverse Elliptical Sidecut (RES) - RES combines the best of both words - skis with RES have all the advantages of increased float, maneuverability, and shredability exhibited by many of the completely reverse sidecut skis on the market, but does so without sacrificing edge hold, stability, and hardpack performance, creating a ski that is truly ready to take you wherever you want to go.
Core
Bamboo Core - The heart of every pair of ON3P skis is the vertically laminated, 100% bamboo core. Bamboo provides a responsive, yet damp characteristic to ON3P skis that we have grown to love. The ON3P core shape gives the ski strength where it needs it, better for resisting warping and breakage. Bamboo is also a quick growing, environmentally-friendly grass.
Tour Layup - A redesigned, thinner core profile supported with additional layers of full-width carbon fiber means the Cease & Desist keeps the weight down for a ski its size.
Laminates
Extra Wide Binding Mat - An additional layer of fiberglass mat provides increased screw retention and prevents pullouts. To ensure proper coverage for all types of hole patterns, ON3P extends this mat to nearly full width on every ski they make.
Tri-Axial Fiberglass - 19 oz or 22 oz Tri-axial Fiberglass provides torsional stiffness, ensuring edge hold and power transfer.
Unidirectional Carbon Stringer - Each ski incorporates unidirectional carbon around the core, adding pop, stiffness, and dampness without any significant increase in weight.
Sidewalls
UHMW Sidewalls and Tip Spacers - Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene is an incredibly strong material, has a higher abrasion resistance than steel, and resists cracking (unlike ABS).
Base
1.8 mm 4001 Durasurf Sintered Base - ON3P Durasurf 4001 base material provides their skis with better glide and protection from damage compared to other sintered and extruded base material, and is 38% thicker than the industry standard.
Edges
2.5 mm x 2.5 mm Extra Thick Edges - ON3P uses a 3/4 wrap for their 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm Rockwell 48C steel edges. The 3/4 wrap allows the tips and tails of the skis to flex, decreasing the risk of delamination.
Additional Features
VDS (Vibration Dampening Strips) - VDS rubber is applied to the edges & sidewalls, acting as a shear layer that provides improved bonding strength and vibration dampening.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Big Mountain, Powder
    Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is a variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered ski and a rocker/camber/rocker ski.
  • Turning Radius: Long
    Long
    > 22 m radius is best for powder and big-mountain.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Carbon
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
