Liberty Helix Skis 2016

A perennial all-mountain favorite. the Liberty Helix Skis have been refined to obtain a new, unprecedented level of perfection. With a carbon fiber layer extending throughout the entire ski, the Helix now boasts an even more lively feel without adding unneeded weight. Powder today, crud tomorrow, and groomers the day after, the Liberty Helix Skis will charge through it all and will leave you grinning regardless of the conditions.
Rocker Type
Stealth Rocker - Stealth Rocker is long, low tip rocker with camber under foot and a flat tail for easy turn initiation without sacrificing edge grip and liveliness.
Speed Core - Bamboo laminated with poplar for light weight, durability, and liveliness.
Fiber Reinforced Polymer - Liberty uses mats of this dense material under the binding area to increase screw retention and add rigidity.
Quadaxial Glass - Liberty's custom weave fiberglass creates tremendous torsional stability while allowing easy longitudinal flex to initiate turns and absorb terrain. While more expensive than other bi and tri- directional weaves, it enables Liberty to fine tune the flex characteristics of each ski.
Full Length Carbon Laminate - This year Liberty ratcheted up the already impressive performance spectrum of the Helix and kept the weight down with a full length carbon fiber layer.
Bamboo Backbone - Laminated bamboo gives tremendous rebound and energy while being environmentally friendly.
ABS and Whitewalls - Extra thick ABS helps reinforce against impacts and transmits energy for improved edge grip. Liberty's Whitewalls are made of resilient and repairable UHMW PE, for a smooth and durable ride.
Durathane - A Poly-Urethane bumper to smooth out the ride and protect against top sheet chipping.
P-Tex 2000
HRC 48 - Liberty's specially treated HRC 48 edges feature a wider profile with larger anchors for greater durability and longer life.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Long
    > 22 m radius is best for powder and big-mountain.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
