Liberty Helix Skis 2010: The award winning Helix line is back for 2010. Handcrafted as a utility ski for big mountains, the Helix has redefined versatility in a fat ski. Skiers from the Coast Range to the Rockies have made the Helix their daily driver because of its ability to handle everything from tight chutes and tree runs to wide open bowls. The Helix rips groomers with ease thanks to quadaxial glass and the new Durathane sidewall layer, and has a mini-rocker in the tip and tail to smooth out mixed conditions and rise to the top in deep pow.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:Laminated bamboo and poplar core with extra quadaxial fiber to increase torsional rigidity. Ideal for the greater forces and higher speeds that wider skis often encounter
  • Construction:Liberty’s new HRC 48 edges have a slightly lower hardness rating with a wider profile and larger anchors to dissipate heat and increase impact resistance. The 78 degree UHMW Sidewalls are rugged and repairable for when you hit harder things than snow and carry an increased edge grip on the packed stuff.
  • Shape:Elongated tip and tail for smooth powder riding and exceptional quickness in variable conditions. Basically a mini-rocker
  • Binding Compatibility:Requires brake width of 100mm

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2010:

I am a 5'4" female and these skis are light enough for me to rock the 176. They have incredible float. I can hit powder full speed from a groomer and not lose any speed. They perform exceptional all over the mountain and they're definitely one of the fastest skis I've ever rode. I'm usually very picky about my skis and honestly have nothing bad to say about them. If you are a big mountain skier looking for a ski that can handle the bowls, powder, groomers and tree runs all the same... this is your ski!

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2010:

i have the 08-09 version of this ski, 176 cm length, same design but different colors, i have skied them all over new mexico and southern colorado with them. they are a great pair of skis, wide enough to float on a powder day, but i can still edge them on the groomers back to the lift, they are also very light for their size, and are not too soft like most other big skis i have been on. they are a fairly fast ski and have god edge control. my only gripe about them is the top sheet chips off easily when they bump together at all, just small pieces on the edges, but the base is very durable and has battled off its fair share of rocks this without resulting in deep core shots like most other skis.

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2010:

THe new Liberty Helix is a great all around ski that excels in the powder. With the bamboo/poplar core, it is very light and easy to move around even in the crud and on groomers. Float in powder makes skiing easier and so much fun. highly recommend.
